“Perfect, quiet and relaxing!”

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and can't recommend it highly enough!

There are no cars on the island, which was great! The Island is absolutely beautiful and we spent our days exploring every little corner we could find, relaxing on the beach or at the pool. The people from the Island are very friendly - we met a lady who gave us fresh strawberries from her garden, another one who sells home made jam and other goodies from her house, and many other friendly locals. Same applies to the hotel staff, always helpful. On the day of our departure we had to leave at 5am and even though breakfast doesn't start until later, they knew we were leaving early and had breakfast available for us at 5am. Very nice touch of hospitality.

Beach is sandy and beautiful, so quiet. There is a little playground area in the property (not on beach) which was a nice feature.

Room was on the small side, but worked ok for us - there was a separate corner, almost like a room but without a door, for our 3 year old, so it was a nice arrangement. Acoustics between rooms were not the best though.

You need the ferry to get to and from Dubrovnik - a very pleasant 25 minute ride. Just plan your visits to Dubrovnik with the ferry schedule in mind. We went to Dubrovnik a few times but decided to spend most of our time on this beautiful, peaceful island. Would definitely do it again!!

“Comfortable place to stay for a few days”

My wife and I stayed at Villas Kolocep in September 2010 for four nights. The property is a decent place to stay, not terribly well furnished, but clean and safe. The island of Kolocep is really beautiful. We spent one afternoon kayaking all the way around the island and then in the evening walking to the other side of the island for some great photos of the sunset. Probably the biggest disappointment for us was the ferry schedule to and from the island. The day we arrived, the ferry switched from its summer schedule to its off season schedule. Instead of a ferry every hour or so, it went to one ferry every 4 hours, which made getting to and from Dubrovnik difficult. Overall though, we enjoyed our time on Kolocep. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

“Yet another good review”

I have just spent 10 days on this wonderful islamd and really cannot fault it. My friend and I used the hotel's private transportation from the airport which included a boat taxi from Dubrovnik - not quite James Bond, but such fun. We had booked a family room without sea view, but on arrival were up-graded to a junior suite - 2 rooms + bathroom + terrace overlooking the bay. We really loved everything about the hotel and our only real "complaint" was that the buffet food was never quite hot enough and if I visited again I would take b/b and sample the 2 or 3 restaurants on the island. However, Croatia is not a gourmet paradise so this was never really a problem. There are no cars on the island so the highlight of the day is the arrival and departure of the ferry to/from Dubrovnik and to/from the other Elafiti islands. A very adequate swimming pool and a smallish sandy beach in front of the hotel which is very unusual in Croatia.
I really cannot praise the hotel and staff enough. Just one word of advice - try and get rid of the wasps at breakfast!

Room Tip: Do pay for a sea view

“Excellent hotel perfect for relaxation”

We just spent 5 nigths on Kolocep. And we got what we came for - 5 perfect sunny relaxing and enjoyable days. The Hotel is very nice - the room was kept immaculately clean - the size was okay with a nice little balcony for a beer prior to dinner. Excellent quiet beach which is nice for swimming. Kolocep is a beautiful island ideal for some light hiking offering stunning views and breathtaking sunrise.
The restaurant at Villa Ruza is also highly recommendable - high quality food at reasonable prices and a wide selection of lovely Croatian wines.

Room Tip: 813 - on 2nd floor with perfect view of the beach and the bay

“What a fab find!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

Just come back from a wonderful stay in this heaven on earth location. I have visited many place including the Caribbean and can honestly say this was the prettiest including Megan's Bay. The views were stunning and when you spent time off the island on return it felt like "coming home". The staff could not do enough and were all most helpful. The food was always good choice but my only comment is that it could have been hotter even when one arrived as the restaurant opened.....maybe they could look into organizing this but apart from this there was nothing one could say about it.I am still getting over just how great it all was. We had private transfers from Dubrovnik and back and this was the icing on the cake. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends for a wonderful quiet holiday with excellent service.

Room Tip: I would recommend room 801 or 815 for the most fab views over the bay even though we did not stay in...
