This weekend, 12-15.01, I had the plessure of visiting Dubrovnik for the first time. It was a business- trip, and my employer had booked the whole hotel.
It was dark when we arrived, so I did'nt see so much then, but the view I woke up to was completly breathtaking. The hotel has a perfect location, as near the ocean as possible, and you can see the wonderful stonebuildings and the great fort from the balcony.
It's just a quick walk to the old town - witch also is really stunning.

The hotel has a delicat spa- department with a professional staff, and I can totally recomend a treatment or two. It cost maybe one/third of the norwegian prices.
It has a well sized pool, a couple of jacuzzi's and saunas.

I'm very happy with the service from everybody in this hotel. They really took good care of us.

The room was a tiny bit worn out, but it was clean and absolutly OK. I would totally recomend rooms with balcony and seaview - because of the wonderful view.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful place and I absolutly want to go back. Perfect for romantic trips :)
The food is not a culinary experience, but it's not bad either.
The other stuff makes totally up for it.

The location is perfect. It's within easy walking distance of old Dubrovnik and right on the edge of the sea. The views are magic. On a hot day after exploring the old city to return and cool off in the ocean and enjoy a quiet lunch right at water's edge is special.
The hotel is modern but has a very confusing geography. I wasn't the only guest who got lost on more than one occasion! The rooms are satisfactory and clean and have a reasonable standard of amenity. The service is very good. But again I must return to location because it was lovely to be able to relax on a balcony with a spectacular view right at water's edge.
The breakfasts were satisfactory -again the views from the terrace fantastic - spoilt only by the locals' propensity for tobacco smoking. I chose to eat inside on more than one occasion and forego the view because of the problems caused by addicts' smoke.
The inside pools are well maintained as is the spa and one can combine their use with sitting outside on the large deck by the sea.
The lunches "on the beach" under an umbrella right at water's edge were terrific. Not a great choice but light and healthy for the middle of the day. On more than one night we ate on the terrace just off the bar. This is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a light meal overlooking the old city at sunset. This service was very good indeed!
In all, we had a very pleasant week here of both relaxation and discovery.

The hotel is splendid with its private little beach, huge indoors pool, spa and exceptional service. The rooms are large and the view is wonderful. The bar offers I Pads as well as all sorts of snacks and drinks :)
The bed was really comfortable and turn-down service in the evening was excellent. Huge bathroom was a plus. Staff is helpful if a little distant. They all speak good English. Even though there was a problem with our reservation, it worked out OK in the end.
The seaside restaurant was really good. Nice live music and piano outdoors on the terrace was really romantic.

All good comments are written by other people so that I will write only what I wished, because of 'normal expectation of 5 stars hotel'.

There was no coffee/tea maker at the room, in normal 5 star hotels have them without asking it.
OK, I got it immediately, but the housekeepers just avoid washing only the used cups, but the glasses do. Isn’t it strange rules for 5 stars, is it? I never had such experience in the past.

They never refill tea bags, it’s ok, that might be cost saving strategy for the 5 stars, I bought some at a supermarket which is closed to the hotel.

We went to the Sushi restaurant in the hotel, I asked which kind of fish they offer.
There were only Tuna and Salmon….. this was very disappointed, but ok, I should have gone to Japan to eat Sushi, not in Dubrovnik.

Most hotel staffs had ‘cold smile’ except a receptionist called ‘Mario’, yes, he was <Super Mario> for me! , he had ‘Real smile’!

At the breakfast table, they served tea/coffee pots which ALL had cracked. My friend said I was exaggerated, but it gives so sad feeling from morning in the 5 stars. The design of the pots was poor that were same as a Hospital in my town.

The view from the reception was great, but the design of the fence was like cheap apartment one (see my pictures), I know this is personal opinion, however, if you see other buildings in the town, there are many beautiful iron works on doors, fences and so on. I wished they should have chosen a bit better one.

I all time wondered where the picture of the hotel site top page was taken (with white stone wall & balcony with day bed). I ‘looked for’ it during my stay, because the picture was the reason why I choose this hotel. And finally I found it! It was taken at the villa next where normal customers would never see the view.

I often use 5 stars hotels for my business trip, therefore, maybe I should not have compared to others. Except things above, it was very nice hotel, especially SPA facility!
