“Peaceful, Clean, Great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

Location: 10 min walk from city centre in quiet street. Stay here if you want some peace and tranquility from the busy touristy old town. Not necessarily for you if you have mobility issues or a stroller - there are stairs to go to the old town! We paid 85 euros a night and spent 2 nights there. Everything was clean, there was air con and windows with a nice view. The rooms are among beautiful gardens with pomegranate trees - so lovely!
Owners very helpful, not too imposing, but attentive when we needed to ask them things.
NB I didn't rate location excellent because it is a walk away from the old town, it's not as if you can pop back to the room for things but it was exactly what we wanted as we didn't want to stay among the tourists...so I suppose it's all about personal preference!

“A welcome oasis from the crowds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We and another couple spent 4 nights at Villa Busovina at the end of our trip through Croatia, and of all the b & bs and apartments we stayed in, this was by far the best. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and well appointed, and the communal patio overlooking the sea is a wonderful place for breakfast or a cocktail. Our hosts Rastko and Slavica could not do enough for us, and in their absence Jadranka was an equally attentive host. The crowds in the old city were bad enough in September - I can't imagine them in July and August - so it was wonderful to be able to retreat, albeit on an uphill path, to this lovely villa. Great value for money, and a truly memorable stay.

“Great quality guesthouse in excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

We chose Villa Busovina based on the great reviews on Tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed! The house is situated in the maze of winding alleys that can be found behind the Old Town (up a fair few steps, but this was a good way to walk off our amazing dinners at the end of each night!).

The room we were given (Room 3), was very spacious and had a beautiful view over the old town and the sea beyond. It was equipped with effective aircon, tv, and free wi-fi. The bathroom was also very spacious, and everything spotlessly clean. There are also nice hotel-like touches such as electric room keys and a telephone with a direct line up to the main house, in case of any queries.

Ratsko and his wife were very welcoming and helpful, even collecting our luggage for us which finally arrived in Dubrovnik a couple of days after we did!

Overall I would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting Dubrovnik.

Room Tip: Room 3 had an amazing sea view!

“A beautiful villa away from the crowds - a gem of a place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2011

A fantastic find. Great value for money with really helpful owners who helped carry our bags, arranged a taxi at the end of our stay and were flexible in the times we could have breakfast. Room 3 has lovely views down on to red tiled roofs and the sea, and it was a great place to come back to away from the hectic Old Town. The town is not so far away - 220 steps, but they are easily managed. I travelled with my 73 year old mother and we were both very pleased indeed with our stay here. The breakfast at 5 Euros each is well worth it, and the terrace overlooking the town is a pleasant place to enjoy it. A real find, I would highly recommend this place - it was the best value for money in our whole trip.

“A true sanctuary!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2011

I will be recommending this quaint little B&B to anyone planning to visit Dubrovnik! On arrival we were met by the owners who proceeded to show us to our room which was located towards the bottom of the block of land which features wonderful gardens and a terrace close to an outdoor shower that you can use to cool off. Sun lounges are also at the guests disposition in our own little area. The owner showed us to our air-conditioned room and proceeded to point out it's other features. An electrician by trade, the room is entered using a hotel room key. There are data cables and adaptors at your disposition and a library area with guide books and novels. Wireless facilities are also available and the room had a satellite TV and fridge, bathroom, telephone (dial 10 for reception) etc. We were truly impressed and felt like this was our home away from home. Maps and suggestions on what to do and where to go are also dound in your room and the owner is more than happy to answer any questions! Situated above the old town, if you take the easy route down the steps which were pointed out to us, you arrive at Pile Gate - one of two entrances to the old city. We will definately stay here again.
