“One of the best places I've stayed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

My friend and I stayed here back in July . It was a bit tricky to find, but once we go there, we were amazed. This place is family owned and reeks of charm. Our room had air conditioning - a difficult thing to find in Croatia - and was very reasonably priced. We had to share our bathroom with another room, but this wasn't a problem for us. Possibly the best part is the tables in the beautiful garden where you can eat your meals. You can also pay and the family will cook extra dinner for you. Everyone was so kind and generous and the place was just too picturesque for words. It is also a short walk/bus ride to town.

“A really lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

This is the third time that we have stayed at the Bokun Guesthouse, and it just gets better each time. The house and garden are beautiful, and as ever Toni and his lovely family made us feel so welcome. I would particularly recommend it to families with children, especially since Toni has two children of his own and it was lovely to see them and my two grandchildren playing together. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. A lovely place, in a very interesting part of Dubrovnik, only 20 minutes walk away from the old city. Excellent value for money. I've done a lot of travelling, and the Bokun is easily one of the best places that I've stayed in.

“Superb 2 * Sobe”

You cannot go wrong. Our room was large , even by European standards, complete with full kitchen ( did not use). Location and the peaceful ambience of Toni's garden make a welcome break from the sea of humanity of the Old City especially when the many cruise ships drop off their sheep. A brisk 20 minute walk to the Old City or a short bus ride 1a, 1b, or 6. 6 also takes you to the Babin Kuk Peninsula and wonderful beaches. Very close to the main bus station for the transfer to the airport and terminus when we came from Split on the coach. Next to the Port. Ideal if you are taking a Sail Croatia small boat crusie along the Dalmation Coast. Oh... and inexpensive too, we paid 60 Euros a night. Marvellous value. would never recommend staying closer to the Old City which is noisy, touristy, busy beyond words. When we there 4 full size cruise ships dropped off an additional 6, 000 tourists ( at least) oh and hot @ 35 during September. Wew had one day rain, which Toni told us was the 1st rain they had had in 3 months.

“Average budget accomodation”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Bokun is considered a Sobe in Croatia. This means you get a room and typically not a breakfast. The room we had was small. The rooms could use a good scrubbing. The shaded garden terrace was nice to sit in during the heat of the day. It is located in the middle of Dubrovnik but, in Dubrovnik the sights are at the edge of the city; ie the old city and the beaches. There is a bus stop close by which provides good local transportation to other areas of Dubrovnik. It is close to the bus terminal if you are arriving by bus from Split. If I were to go to Dubrovnik again I would stay closer to the old city or to one of the beach areas, ie Lapad. Toni was very helpful.Bokun is considered a Sobe in Croatia. “Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We came back from a stay at Mljet and this hotel is very well located close to the port and ferry. We stayed in a ground floor apartment which was very comfortable, clean and had a nice atmosphere. The garden is beautiful and very peaceful. The owner, Toni, is friendly. We used the transfer service to the airport.
