“A cross between a hostel and a hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

This is a good value for money hotel / hostel near to central split. I timed it and It's about a 20 min walk (if you go the quickest route). I had booked into the hostel part (without knowing) and for a couple of days it was fine. The rooms are all private (2 beds per room). There is a kitchen but you have to bring all your own cooking equipment. The breakfast was fine, buffet style. The staff were friendly and had no problems checking in or out. There were not many people there so it was quiet. There is one large bathroom for men and one for women on the floor. For the price it was good value. Staying in the hotel part seems to about double the price. So it depends on how much you want to spend.

“Basic but perfectly acceptable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2010

I booked for 3 nights as it was the only hotel that I could find with rooms free for the weekend. It’s basic no frills 2* accommodation – but my room had aircon and was very clean, and the breakfast was good enough. It is a 30 minute walk down to the waterfront but as I’m used to walking I don’t regard that as a disadvantage. Biggest gripe I have is that my passport was kept as security and held behind the reception in a pigeon hole that was on view to everyone and freely available to the enterprising thief – every responsible hotel chain abandoned that practice long ago. Only other gripes were that the TV in my room didn’t work, and being greeted by the night porter dressed in his vest was not a great welcoming experience. In summary this is very acceptable basic accommodation for someone

“Basic, but affordable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

Very basic accommodation, but the staff were friendly and the breakfast was surprisingly good! A good budget choice for a night or two only.

“Decent hotel, but too far out from anything you'd want to see”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 April 2010

The hotel itself is decent. Nothing fancy, but its clean, the rooms were spacious enough, the staff were friendly and the standard continental breakfast is included.

The only issue I had is that the hotel is not very well located. It's situated in a residential area, and is about a 20-30 minute walk (depending if you have luggage) from down town (where the port and and all the other interesting places in Split are).

I booked this through a travel agent as they told me it was the only hotel they could find in Split, I cringed when I got out of the bus at the port in Split and saw hostels and people offering rooms in their homes nearby.

Decent hotel, but not recommend if you need to catch a boat or want to see the sites in Split.

“Unique opportunity next to Split centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2009

Reasonable price (even during high season), clean rooms, good breakfast, and only 15 minutes walk from the Dioclesian palace. This is Dujam Hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights and everything worked well. Rooms are simple, clean, enough space for two. And is situated in a residential area, so there is no problems with noise.
If your budget is limited, I think this is the only excelent option that you can find next to Split centre. One tip: if you want a late check out, do not hesitate in asking the reception desk: I did it, and without any difficulty got it with none additional fee,
