“Truly Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2011

Our stay at the Zephyrus House was nothing short of fabulous. The manager, Antonia, made my mother and I feel like we were staying with close friends. In a large, somewhat confusing city, Antonia gave us great insights on what to see, and where to eat and shop. She made us feel safe and well cared for during our stay. Zephyrus House itself was very comfortable, incredibly clean (better than home!) and beautifully decorated.

“Absolutely fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

Beautifully designed rooms/apt and with staff that goes that extra mile on service and satisfaction every single day. Never felt so welcome at any place before. In the middle of the old city it's close to everything worth seeing and doing in Split. So clean, nice and neat. And thanks to Jelena for making our stay truly special. Looking forward to revisit next year (hopefully!). A place I'll recommend to both couples, families and singles.

“Highly recommend...great rooms and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2010

We had a really nice experience here. You feel very welcomed. Our room was like a small apartment. It had a dining room, kitchen, big chair, nice bed, flat screen TV, and large bathroom. So, it didn't feel like a hotel room, it felt like your little place. Antonia takes care of you from the time you come, until you leave. She leaves you little goodies too...like cake and watermelon in your refrigerator. When you first arrive you will see that there is wine, orange juice, water, milk, coffee, sugar, cereal, yogurt, so you always have the basics. It is in a great location, b/c down the street are bakeries, gelato, and eateries. So, on our first morning there we bought goodies from the bakery for breakfast, because I am not a Muslik or yogurt lover.

She really knows how to decorate and the bed is SOOOO soft. Everything is very well taken care of. There weren't many draw backs except...the curtains don't close, so if there are guests on the other balcony - they have full view of you! So, remember to take your clothes on and off in the bathroom. (: I also learned to space our showers out. If you take two back to back the last person is getting cold water.

I like the location, it is in a neighborhood a little off the beaten path vs being in the busy, touristy Palace area. So, you have to walk up a little bit of an incline on a back street to get there. Maybe a 5-7 min walk, not far.

Listen to her restaurant recommendations: Sperum and Marul. They were our two favorite places to eat.

Loved it there, if you ever go to Split stay there!

“A little pricey but charming nonetheless”

GOOD: Jelena and Antonija were both fantastic hosts. really personable, massively helpful and kind. The room itself was sizable, bed comfy, nice bathroom, great shower (although limited hot water), nice, simple breakfast supplies.

NOT SO GOOD: Just a wee bit pricey (EUR330 for 2 nights) for a B&B.

“Great Stop in Croatia!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 October 2009

We arrived in Split, Croatia from Dubrovnik via car this past September. We had reservations at a small B&B/hotel called The Zephrus just outside the pedestrian-only city center for three nights. The hotel was beautiful and since we rented the two bedroom "apartment" we had a huge terrace to lounge on.

We were very impressed by Split... wonderful restaurants, open air market, several historical sites, beautiful sea/marina/port views, ferries to take you to several of the nearby islands and friendly people and lots of activity.

We took a day trip to the island of Solta where they offer a tour of the olive oil plant that has been in the same family for hundreds of years. This is where we saw 800 year old olive trees. What a treat.

We will return to Split as well as other parts of Croatia... and spend more time.
