“Great location with the personal touch”

My wife & I stayed at the Vila Ana for three nights in Aug 2007 and found it to be a charming small hotel. It's in an excellent location about fifteen minutes walk from the port, and about ten minutes walk to the old city and the station.

Although located fairly close to a main road, it's set well back and we had no problem with traffic noise. Our room was comfortable and its efficient air conditioning was very welcome in the summer heat. The buffet breakfast, although limited in choice, was sufficient in quantity for our needs. We found the staff to be very helpful and they recommended a number of excellent restaurants for dinner.

Although they take all the usual cards for payment, they offer a ten per cent discount for cash. All in all, the Vila Ana offers good value for money in a central location, and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Lastly a tip. When walking from the Vila Ana to the old city, go along the traffic free Radunica (to the left of the hotel when facing it) which takes you directly to the Silver (Eastern) Gate - it's much nicer than the main road.

“good location, hard to find”

The location is good if you arrive by car to take the ferry to the islands and you want spend some time to visit the historical centre of Split (which is really wonderful, with the remains of the Diocletian Palace and the narrow medieval streets).
3 minutes by car to the ferry port, 6-7 minutes on foot to the old city walls.
The room I stayed in was large, with 3 windows except in the bathroom where you need it most.
A suggestion: if you arrive by car, drive very very slowly, because the street of Villa Ana is one of the smallest in the world, and is very difficult to recognize it.
The breakfast is rather poor.

What a dellightful inn. We initially found Villa Ana on TripAdvisor and although we couldn't find any more information, the location was enough to go ahead and book a reservation. So glad we did!

Don't compare it to big hotels...it's small, immaculate, good beds and excellent breakfasts. We were most pleased with this lovely accommodation and would highly recommend it.

“Highly recommended”

This is a charming little B&B. The receptionist is very friendly and does try to help, although she doesn't speak much English. The hotel is very clean, nicely decorated. The room is spacious. The breakfast was one of the best I had in Croatia!! (the eggs actually tasted like eggs). It is close to the bus/train station and ferry port. Highly recommended.

“A real gem in Split”

Villa Ana was one of the best places in which we slept during our recent trip to the Balkans. The traditional stone house was recently remodled into a small hotel. Our host, Daniel, was born in Germany and lived there until returning to Croatia to run this inn, an investment of his father who still resides in Germany. He and his aunt run an immaculate, modern, cosy establishment.

Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The breakfast, the only meal served at Vila Ana, was ample. Daniel let us use his PC to check E-mail. The location was handy to two restaurants, the riva and the former Roman palace.

Book early as he is full most of the year.
