I spent one night at Peristil, actually into one of the apartments they have around the Diocletian's Palace. We were tired, long drive, it was getting late and the reception guy came to pick us up at the main parking, taking us and the car in front of the hotel(practically inside the Palace). they offered to watch my car for the night( It was brand new by back then) and the funniest thing happened when it was surrounded by the market and participants to a wedding in the morning... no worries , the hotel manager started shouting that we had to leave and the car was out of the market within seconds... It was a hilarious situation, but I really appreciated this extra attention. The apartment we had was ok, very clean , price was fair considering being a saturday night and it was already evening. We also ate at their restaurant, good food, and had breakfats the day after, also good. And not to forget, we were offered a shot of Raki, local spirit, upon arrival... I must say I loved their attentions: it might have looked a bit odd in the beginning, but it was genuine and very kind.
And you are practically sitting on Diocletian's knees!
