I am surprised this hotel is not ranked higher for the city of Split; it has a lot of charm. As I was traveling with a small group, I did not select this hotel myself. Initially I was disappointed that we were not located closer to the water; but after my first evening there, I appreciated the location and the accommodations. My room was a tad small, but the clever design of placing frosted glass between the bathroom and the main room made it feel much larger- the great thing: a large bathtub perfect for soaking in after a long day walking about in the sun in high season. Split feels like a medieval city perfectly frozen in time- yet also has modern elements. Unlike Dubrovnik's 'old city' area, this area of Split is both a tourist attraction as well as a living/working city. The hotel is adjacent to a daily fish street market which sums up the charm and functionality of the hotel itself. Rooms are clean, tastefully furnished and service was friendly; morning breakfast was good each day- in short I would recommend both this hotel and its location. You will be charmed walking the well worn stone streets of this town.
