“Super Split”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

We stayed at the Split Inn Apartments for 5 nights in September and was extremely pleased with our choice. We had the best time in Split and would highly recommend the Split Inn apartments as a good base to explore the city from. We too had the upper apartment in the block of two and was perfect for us. Good air con, two little balconies, a tv, a nice little breakfast bar and a good fridge. I must though mention the bathroom which was lush, better than a lot of hotels that charge a fortune. A good shower, big sink, plenty of hot water and very, very clean. There's so much to do in Split that your out for most of the day and night but a good bathroom is essential and this one was top notch. We had the airport pick up which some may think was a bit pricey but worth every penny as the driver was waiting in the airport for us bang on time, and we were out of the airport and at the apartment in about an hour! Dean meet us and took us to the apartment. Dean is really cool and gave us lots of advice, a map and again recommended some good restaurants. The apartments are close to the edge of the Riveria about 5 mins away, so close to everything that after a couple of nights it's like you've lived there all your life!! The only thing I would say about the apartments is that there are 27 steps to get to it which was fine for us, my thighs got a good workout everyday but if you do have walking difficulties then maybe check which apartment you will be getting, other than that the apartment is excellent.
Having had a few nights in Split then we got to go to lots of places. The bar at the top of the hill from the apartments is a must visit as the views are awesome. The restaurants vary in price the Konoba Marjam is good and reasonably priced at about £25 for two with drinks and does good fish. The pizza is Split is awesome even from the takeaway bars for less than £1.50 a slice, so you can make it as cheap or expensive as you like depending on your budget. Pivo, (beer) is on average 16 kuna, (£ 2.00) some places a little cheaper and some a bit more expensive but £2.50 tops. Local spirits are cheaper than your standard makes. The only thing if you do like to stay out a bit later is that the majority of cafe bars close at about 12, some 1 at the weekend so head to the beach area if you want to stay out later which is about a 10-15 minute walk away but if you want to party all night you can!!!
We visited Hvar, lovely for a day or overnight stay and Trogir is nice too which you can get to by boat or bus but check the timetables depending on the time of year you go as they can change. The beach is not your typical beach but good if you dont like sand getting everywhere!! Honestly Split is a great place, where else can you have a great meal and a few drinks whilst being in the grounds of a palace? Forget going anywhere where else for a short break, Split and the Split Inn apartments should be top of your list!! Sorry to go on for so long but it was a great holiday!!!

“Great location, super clean!”

We stayed for 1 night in Split, this was perfect! Great location, just a minute's walk from the Old Town and the girl on reception gave us some great restaurant recommendations.

“Cozy Private Accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

Small but comfortable and modern private accommodation west of the River Walk in Split. Air conditioned, outdoor terrace shared with other units, free wi-fi (worked better outside than inside), and within Diocletian's Palace (main attraction). A good choice for your time in Split.

“Clean, Compact and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The apartment was in a good location only a short walk to the Riva. The greeting at the office was pleasant and efficient. They gave us a map of the city and pointed out some recommended bars and restaurants, which was very helpful, we tried two of them and they were great (Pizza place on the corner near the office and Konoba Marjan). We also went up the hill to the bar with the panoramic views, a bit of a trek but worth the walk. The room was compact but very clean and comfortable the only slight downside was it being located down an alley so no views to speak of but I think that would be the case with most places in Split. We had the upper apartment in a little block of two which had a couple of small balconies which was quite nice to have breakfast on in the morning but it only look onto other buildings. The City was good fun and they had a live band on a stage in the middle of the Riva every night we were there (it was weekend however). There was also other live entertainment in the palace. All in all we had a really great time.

“Excellent Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

These rooms are spread out in the City. I wish I remembered the name of the street that we stayed on, but I can't. The apartment was 3 minutes from the main strip, which was perfect, close enough but not too close for noise purposes. The room was clean and comfortable, great A/C and a comfortable bed. The room was decorated Ikea style - that is, not full of character, but perfectly comfortable and met all of our needs. The shower was great and it was one of our most comfortable sleeps on that trip.

There was a terrace up top, that all the apartments located in that building shared. It didn't have a view, but it was nice to have a place to sit and have a drink outside before going to dinner.

The staff were amazingly helpful, from helping us with our bags, to answering our questions, to letting us print our boarding passes free of charge.

It's little details like this that made this place so great.

I would definitely return and it was a fabulous value.
