This hotel is alright, if and ONLY IF you get the right rooms. There are not many hotel options in Kharkov to begin with, so you will most likely end up staying here if you're in town. My advice is to get a room on the lowest floor possible, because the elevator is ----. This is at least a 14 story building and there is only 1 small elevator... and it's only semi-automatic.
I booked a superior standard room (I believe), and ended up having to change rooms when I arrived because my room was quite basic with no AC. I wasnt about to stay there when it was nearly 100 deg F outside. So I had to upgrade to a semi-suite just to get AC. The rooms are more expensive at this hotel than they should be. But once I got a decent room everything was fine.
The best thing about this hotel is the 24hr restaurant downstairs. You can eat a full course meal at 3am if you want. The food is really good, and the wait staff are very nice.
The reception people speak English, but for the most part were not friendly and welcoming like receptionists should be. I felt like I had to twist their arm to get them to help me with general things receptionists should do. And... VERY IMPORTANT... be carefull when paying for your room here because the receptionists will try to tell you that there credit card machine is not working so they can get you to pay in cash. DONT DO IT!!! They are lying to you so they can pocket the cash.
