This was my first time in Ukraine and I felt I needed the safety of the hotel as I did not know what to expect. This hotel is very clean, the bathrooms were spotless and all the common areas were as well. The service staff knew English, some were better than others, and I felt only once that I was misunderstood to the point that I missed a walking tour because I thought I understood where the tour was to meet, and then to my surprise no one showed up at the appointed time of the tour. But as everyone says there "What do you expect, it is Ukraine?" The wifi was ok and I never lost a connection in the 8 days I was there. I had to use the 2nd floor one though as my signal was better with that than the 4th floor which was were my room was. If you call ahead and request a taxi they will meet you at the airport which is very important if you are on your own. I walked out from customs and there was the driver with a sign with my name and off we went. The bill is added your room. Overall, I was very satisfied.

the hotel is slightly pricey, but the location is great (on the main street, which is mostly pedestrian), the lobby nice, the reception and restaurant staff always nice, rooms very comfy and clean, bad wifi but a 24-hr business centre free of charge. All in all I really like this hotel and warmly recommend it.

2007 - September - I stayed at this hotel in September of 2007 and everything was great except, at that time, they only had Wi-Fi in the restaurant and small lobby area. This was very disappointing as they represented themselves as a "Business Hotel." I read recently that they now have Wi-Fi in all rooms.
2011 - July - I actually rented an apartment behind the courtyard that is adjacent to the hotel. I decided to write a review just because the staff (Doormen and Front Desk Clerk) were so helpful to me. I lost my wallet in the immediate area and the Front Desk Clerk was very helpful. Someone actually found my wallet, contacted the Hotel, and it was subsequently returned to me. The Doorman had recognized me and remembered which apartment I was staying at so that the person who found my wallet could return it to me personally. I tipped the Doorman for his help. Several times during my stay, I also asked another Doorman for directions to different places. He was very helpful with a friendly attitude so I also tipped him. So while I did not stay at the hotel this time, their staff was very helpful. If I were to stay at a Hotel in Odessa, I would definitely stay at the Hotel Continental.

The accomodations were excellent, as were the food and service. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful in every way. First hotel I've ever stayed in where when I returned in the evening the bed had been turned down while I was out.
