“Great location, friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

The Mozart is one of the better hotels in Odessa. It is opposite the Opera House and close to the promenade and famous steps. Some good restaurants and pubs nearby, some of which may require a reservation. Around 25 minutes from the airport out of peak times. English was spoken by all front desk hotel staff, and most major credit cards are accepted. Breakfast is reasonable and was included in my rate. Scrambled eggs, sausages, pastries, yoghourts and fruit were available, as well as a good cup of coffee. Free wifi internet connection was available. Recommended.

“remember a four star hotel is really a two star or maybe three in USA”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2010

The Mozart Hotel has a great location, period. Many of the staff are not friendly. The rooms are akin to a good motel six save for the nicer wall coverings. Thee is nt much to be gained by paying a higher price to stay here. Odessa has a ton of potential, it is a neat town with many great places to eat and great things to see. Kath Hoffman resteraunt around the block is just awesome.

the staff has decided to give me a wake up pounding on my door every morning

“A bit disappointing - bad service and bad breakfast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

I stayed with two friends in a room facing the backyard. The room was fairly clean and the beds were ok. If this is all you are looking for you may well stay at Mozart hotel.

If you expect service, I would however not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was informed we would be three persons, but still the room was prepared just for two. We had to ask an unfirendly lady in the reception to get housekeeping to prepare an extra bed and extra towels, and were not exactly treated with a friendly smile.

Later we asked the same lady if the hotel had any maps of the city. The answer was simply "no". As it turned out they had one old map hidden behind the reception. This belonged to the hotel, and when we asked where we could buy a map, she did not know. When asked about sights and attractions in Odessa, she started pointing out the location of the most important sights at the map, but after a couple of minutes she informed us she had to attend to other guests and just left.

On the second day we had great expectations to the breakfast after the raving reviews at the hotel's own website. Breakfast was served until 12 because it was Easter, and we arrived around 10.00. At that point most of the trays were empty or half empty, and nothing were done to refill them. The cheese left on the buffet had melted, and the scrambled eggs were cold. At a point there was no more bread left, and no attempt was made to refill. If you add that it took about half an hour to get a cup of coffee, this was not a particulary sucessful breakfast experience...

If you have any other options...go for it!

“Very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2009

person found this review helpful

This hotel is very nice, if not quite world class.

The lobby is nice, the staff helpful and the hotel is in good shape.

My room was excellent, frankly, but I think that I had a suite. It had a great view, working WiFi, a separate living room and bedroom.

Breakfast was quite good in a nice quaint dining room.

If you are from the west, the TV will probably not be of much use (just local stuff), but your probably in Odessa for the beaches, not the TV!

It can be a little hard to try to decipher real data from fake data on line, so I was happy when I got here to find it was genuinely nice.
