The Londonskaya Hotel in Odessa has the dream location right beside Potemkin Stairs. It airs a lot of what gets in your mind when you think of Odessa: Art Nouveau, Renaissance and Classicist influenced architecture mixed with bohemian flair (O.K. nowadays all overlayed with neo-ukrainian and russian chic). We were offered at first a very simple and small room under the roof (which I would not recommend to take) and switched then to a only a bit more expensive one with high ceilings and a view towards the courtyard where also the ample breakfast buffet is served. Main attractions of Odessa are all accesible by foot.

Old world charm; nicely renovated 4 star hotel. Good location and quiet place.Always take junior suite (or better): hotel dates from 1830; standard rooms then were designated for coachman, chambermaid or servant, so if you want to stay like the master take the junior suite or more and you will be happy. Excellent free sportclub.

I would like to express the wonderful and fantastic vacation I had this past September (2009) in the City of Odessa. What contributed greatly to the joy, excitment, and pleasure of my vacation was the feeling of "being at home" at the Londonskaya Hotel. Waking up and getting ready for the day in a clean and comfortable room. Anticipating an enjoyable breakfast in the Londonskaya courtyard. Then after a full day of activities and events coming back home to a refreshing made-up room, relaxing for awhile with a large assortment of refreshments available in the mini-bar; with additional options of having dinner in the beautiful Londonskaya restaurant or just kicking-back with friends, family, and other guests in the Londonskaya bar and lounge. The location is super fantastic with the famous Potemkin Stairs just half-a-block away leading to the Odessa Sea Port on the Black Sea. The Londonskaya Hotel is also just a block away from the Odessa Opera House which is the second largest opera house in the world. Both the Potemkin Stairs and the Odessa Opera House are magnificent sites to see at night. And, as you walk back home to the safe and secure comforts of the Londonskaya Hotel you will want to stroll the main parkway surrounded by towering trees on either side and park benches to sit while you talk, listen to music, and even have the opportunity to meet many of the friendly folks who make-up the beautiful City of Odessa. My next vacation to Ukraine will be back to Odessa and my residence of choice will be the Londonskaya Hotel...

This hotel need renovation .. first room we got was just scary.. dirty carpet smell was just deadly ... and really small room .. bathroom was not clean too.. second room we moved down 4 floors with big bags really scary dark and old stairs .. well room was definitely bigger it felt almost like old 19 century uncomfortable cold .. unfriendly.. room definitely need renovation and proper cleaning .. i think is too expensive for what you get.. well is really cool to see on the wall portraits of all famous people been there but it was so long time ago and i bet they kept everything from that time ... well must say the location is just great in center you can walk to Deribasovskaya..
