“A Wonderful Experience!”

My husband and I stayed at Casa Madeleine for a weekend and I must say it was truly an unforgettable experience. Definitely going back! The quality of this "bed and breakfast" is one you can not compare to others. You receive much more than what you are truly pay for. I highly recommend others to stay here! The rooms are stunning, the food is incredibly delicious and the environment is in fact peaceful. I am truly satisfied with the service I received in Casa Madeleine and I am defiantly coming back!!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

we stayed at casa madeleine while we visited antigua. this place is super clean and the grounds are well kept.it is in a quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the city.very close to the 2 mercados in town. walked to central park many times. if not tuk tuk for $2.60 or 20 q any where in town. staff was very friendly and accomadating.great veiw of the volcano from the blue room or the suite. great price on the full body massage.

Room Tip: blue room or suite really quiet and good views

3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

The hotel rooms are very nice and romantic. But the rooms are very noisy. You can here everything what happen in the ohter room, Tollet, Shower, Sex.......

The Internet Wifi did not work on my I Phone.

The service was good but the women dont like when you book cheaper over Tripadvisor. This i dont understand.

“A peaceful refuge in a bustling city”

I stayed at Casa Madeleine for over a week in September 2011, while learning Spanish in Antigua, and then I returned for another couple of days when passing through Antigua later on. The bedrooms are quite small, but with fabulously comfortable beds and some have private balconies. Overall the hotel is intimate - more like living in a large house than a hotel - with a lovely terrace where breakfast is served, which is good especially the pancakes which are the best I've tasted in Central America (and I've eaten quite a few!).. The jacuzzi and other seating areas are also very pleasant and I enjoyed a good pedicure provided by the small onsite spa. The location was literally on the edge of the town, but as the centre is quite small it was easy to walk in or get a cheap tuk-tuk. It was a good residential area and so I did not feel worried about walking home alone in the dark until around 10pm even though the streets are deserted at that time.

The staff including the receptionists, Kathya, Perla and Carlos, were pleasant and helpful - they were flexible over the dates of my second booking and even took care of a pair of shoes I left by accident until I was able to collect them (in a mad dash en route to Managua). However, the staff could sometimes be vague, such as when I asked if they had a laundry facility they said they didn't and gave me unclear directions about getting my laundry done elsewhere. Yet I later discovered from another guest that their laundry had been done through the hotel. There was a sense that there was no manager or person in charge to sort out any problems. Except for this minor point, overall it was charming, secluded place to stay in a lovely city and I would recommend it.

“An unforgettable stay”

We stayed at Casa Madeleine in our last trip to Guatemala and it was wonderful. It was very peaceful, the room was charming and the breakfast was incredible.

I loved the generous portion of gourmet organic coffee they gave us every day, the staff was very friendly and attended to all our requests.

It's a little bit far from the main square and attractions, but the walk is entertaining.
