We've been to Antigua many times over the past 10 years and always stay at Posada La Merced. It's a great value for the money. Located on 7a N. it's a 10 minute walk to the central park and close by to many great restaurants. It's quite, clean and next door to the world's best coffee and chocolate (roasted daily) at Fernando's Kaffe. The owner, Gerlinde, is great and can also help you with any of your travel needs or questions. For just a few dollars more than regular room prices, I would totally recommend the "apartment" on the top floor. Complete with two full walls of windows looking out over the town and volcanoes Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. Be sure and check out the rooftop for a peacefull place to read or just relax.

We've stayed here for 3 days with 9 people and it was the best hotel we've had in Guatemala! Relaxt atmosphere, comfortable rooms and in a relaxt street. Best thing is the rooftop terrace! Make sure you watch the sun go down the volcanoes from there!

Have stayed here numerous times over the last 10 years. Great quite location a few blocks from the center square. Fernando's fresh roasted coffee is next door. Great for groups traveling together but should book in advance. Always my first choice when visiting Guatemala. I
