Posada el Antano is in a fairly good location, only one block from the Arco de Santa Catalina and its many good restaurants and shopping opportunities. The public areas are attractive and offer a respite from the noise of the street. The wireless internet is also a nice feature.
However, I'd choose another place to stay the next time around in Antigua. For one, the noise at night from the Kafka Hostel/bar is a real drawback. It enters into the inner courtyard where all the rooms are located. Next, if staying more than a few nights, the very limited breakfast choices quickly grow old. In terms of the bathroom in Room #12, I wasn't thrilled with the mold on the shower, the flush mechanism on the toilet malfunctioning all the time, nor with having to wait 3 or 4 minutes for hot water. Finally, please be advised that the hotel charges a 12% (yes, 12%!) surcharge for using credit cards to pay for the stay. If you do stay there, remember to bring along cash to settle the bill.
