This is a superb hotel. It is in a quiet location but within a few minutes walk of the historic centre of the city. The rooms are spacious, there is a garden. Breakfast is good. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful.

I wanted to stay 9 nights but they couldn't accomodate me one night, but made arrangements on my behalf for that night.

It was my 2nd visit to Antigua, and should I return again, this is where I would stay.

When I walked up to this hotel I thought, wow, where am I, but once they open the small door to let you in behind the wall, you find a nice old courtyard with a fountain in the middle. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are small and sparse. Clean but not plush (the towels, for example, are basic). A lovely breakfast is served every day in the courtyard. Fresh fruit, granola, local coffee, toast and yogurt. The hotel is located jusst outside the central plaza of the city, which is great because it's quiet and around nearby are nice restaurants. If you're someone who is out clubbing until very late, take a cab back to the hotel, however.
For the money, this hotel is well worth it and I would go back.

I travel through Antigua several times a year but have not stayed at the San Jorge until this time. I plan to return tomorrow and have my reservation there already. The rooms are very nice though not fancy, the breakfast is great and can be served in the room and the shower is HOT with great water pressure. The location is very good and I felt very safe there as a single woman traveler. AND the staff couldn't be friendlier.

Very good hotel for the money I paid. Everything was very good as expected from any holiday inn hotel.
