We've stayed at the Quinta every year for 3 years and each time think we'll try somewhere else but never do. It's a good walk to get to anywhere but if that's an issue you can flag down a tuk tuk and for 10Q they'll take you most anywhere. The Quinta grounds are exquisite and the staff delightful and courteous and good at their jobs. We always stay in the garden rooms for their privacy and complete quiet. Quinta is at the top end in pricing for their category and with trade falling off for this industry we'd like to see them include breakfast in their rates. Perhaps they would consider throwing in coffee & tea and a basket of banana bread if they want to compete more aggressively for market share. The restaurant is quite good if you want to stay in. Our favourite is the chicken soup which comes loaded with veggies and fresh avocado. The only complaint we heard was about the chips they are using - they are an over-flavoured commercial style nacho chip, not the fresh home fried tortilla chips one comes to expect in this part of the world. Pretty minor though. Prices are mid range for the food. Carlos at the front desk afternoons & evenings is a gem, He will make any arrangements for you that you require with grace and elegance. He always astounded us with his cultured courteousness. He arranged for our message therapist to come to our room ($40/hour) and she was the real deal and attended to us one after the other - this was just what we needed after several long days of volunteering in the hospital. Carmen, on the desk during the day, and in charge of reservations, was our advocate in trying to get a rate reduction for the night we were a no-show due to Areomexico running so far behind we didn't make our connection out of Mex City to Guatemala City. She approached the owner on our behalf and we were given a 50% reduction which we greatly appreciated and applied to our food & bar bill. If there is anything that could be approved upon I'd can only think of two things; the internet and an alarm clock in the room. The internet is slow as molasses, drops the connection frequently, and is not accessible from the rooms. There are no clocks in the rooms so we needed to rely on a daily wake-up call. Given the types of travellers who stay in their Inn it would be very appreciated and noted if they could upgrade these 2 services. But as always, we will return again next year for our annual 2 week visit to Antigua and will stay at the Quinta with excited anticipation.
