“A lovely hotel a short distance from the square”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Beautifully restored hotel with lovely rooms and small individual gardens on our downstairs rooms. We didn't eat in the hotel - there were so many great places in town that were also soo much cheaper. Garden setting around the building was delightful but the American rock music at 7 in the morning was a little disconcerting. Disappointingly the terrace bar area was never manned in the three days of our stay - it would have been lovely to sit out there of an evening.
Step out of the front door, look down the street and there's a volcano - fabulous view.

“Great romantic getaway”

My wife and I spent our 15 anniversary in this hotel, in a Suite. The hotel is gorgeous, the doors to the rooms in the first floor are wooden and are carved with different motifs. The hotel has a nice terrace with a gorgeous tree (Tempixque tree) which is lighted at night, great place to have a glass of wine or cup of coffee next to the fireplace. The hotel has a good restaurant which we really enjoyed. The location is great, across the street from the colonial Capuchinas Convent, and a ten minute walk from various points of interest in Antigua..

Room Tip: Stay in the first floor, suites are great!

“Outstanding Accommodations!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

My husband and I reserved our hotel months in advance. We arrived a day early and they were able to accommodate us with the same style room. We paid for a suite with a jacuzzi and private garden. The garden was nice but nothing to brag about. The jacuzzi took 30 minutes to 45 minutes to fill 1/2 way...by that time the water was luke warm. If you are looking for a hot tub..this is not it. But the place was beautiful. The hotel was very charming, cozy, intimate and made us feel like we were in a foreign place (which we love). We stayed there for New Years. They have a 2nd floor where they provided drinks for everyone, a live band, a bar with a patio and we can see all the fireworks all over Antigua. There restaurant is very nice too. Beautiful enough to have a wedding dinner rehearsal. The food is not expensive and the meals were delicious. I was not happy about them not having hand made tortillas. How can you be in guatemala and not have hand made tortillas?? Anyway, once you get sick of Guatemalan beans, plantains, etc. they do serve ham and cheese sandwiches and cereal. My husband got really sick (not bc of their food) and the staff took good care of us. They let us stay 3 more days (we paid of course), they called wherever we needed them to call. They called the pharmacy and had them deliver medication to the room. They serviced our room whenever we needed. We looked at Hotel Atitlan (more for families with kids) and San Domingo (The hotel is bigger and not as intimate - but we might try staying there next time - it's more expensive). Other than that, I couldn't imagine another hotel better than these. The manager was very nice and friendly. Most of the receptionists speak English. Overall, we had the best experience here.

Room Tip: I only stayed in the suite. I could have done without the jacuzzi tub and garden and would have pref...

“Excelent boutique hotel - great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

One of the best hotels we stayed during our many worldwide trips. It operates ~2 years so it is not in some of the guides. Beautiful rooms well furnished. The hotel itself is magnificent with 2 patios. Each door on the ground floor rooms, is a unique wood carving. The service was excelent. We stay ther 4 nights and enjoy every minute. It Is located across the Capucin Convent so ~ 4 bloks from center square. The small size of the hotel gives a quiet and relaxed atmosphere (relative to Santo domingo and the Pusada del Don Rodrogo (we visited them for other reasons).

“Beautiful little hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

I can't imagine finding anywhere nicer to stay in Antigua. The rooms are so cozy and inviting. The fireplaces are a nice touch. All the decor is great and it really feels like the perfect little hideaway.
