My significant other and I were visiting the Adrian area in September 2011 to visit a friend. We decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Express because it was the nicest of the hotel chains in Adrian.
In general, the hotel was decent enough. We got a good night's sleep, and breakfast was quite sufficient (with hot scrambled eggs, biscuits/gravy, make-your-own pancakes, cereal, yogurt, etc.). The pool looked nice, but we didn't have the opportunity to use it. No hot tub, by the way.
The main issue we had with this hotel was that it was rather expensive for what we got (hence the "poor" rating for value). Altogether we paid almost $120 for the room, but it really should have been maybe $20 or $30 less than that. Whoever cleaned our bathroom did not not do as thorough of a job as s/he could have done for $120 because we found some long hairs on the floor and in the bathtub. My significant other complained that the walls were a bit too thin. Also, someone was smoking in a nearby room, and a little bit of the smoke was wafting through the walls into our room.
The check-in and check-out processes were easy, and the staff were friendly enough. However, we always thought Holiday Inn Expresses were a bit nicer than this. For $20 or $30 less for the night, it would have been more than acceptable.
