We stayed at Sweet Liberty for a couple nights during a hot spell in July, 2010. The host, Barbara, was very pleasant, accommodating, and offered some great suggestions for places to visit, shop and dine. It was like staying with a favorite Aunt as Barbara was always available to make suggestions on whatever we decided to do such as visit the various beaches, bike across the Island, eat out at various restaurants, seek directions and roads to avoid, etc.

The location of Sweet Liberty is only a few minutes away from town - it is close enough to get there by bicycle in just a few minutes but far enough away from the village such that you are sufficiently far from the hectic pace, activity and traffic found in the village.

Although the Solitude Room has its own bathroom, the room has only two windows facing the front of the house and we found it to be not as well ventilated as the the Seascape and the Sunset. It was unusually hot during our stay and a small air conditioner would have been a blessing for us. But the rest of our party in the Seascape and the Sunset had windows on two sides of each room and they appeared to better ventilated rooms on those very hot nights and they were a little more comfortable.

If you are in a large party taking all three rooms you should be very comfortable. However, if you staying in one of the rooms be prepared to compromise your privacy to some extent with the other guests as well as the host. For some it may not be a concern but for others it may be.

Just around the corner from Sweet Liberty is Something Natural - the absolute best sandwich shop on the Island. It is handy for trips to the beach and the sandwiches are a handful. There are plenty of picnic tables under shady trees in an unusual backyard, off-road setting. Eating here or buying sandwiches for a cross island bike ride is a must.

Since we had not seen Sweet Liberty before staying there we were happy with the choice that we made and are looking forward to another visit in the future.
