Breakfast was a throw away beds comfortable 100 yards from whaling museum- on the quiet side.. it was fine nothing special but certainly didn't overpay.

Periwiinkle/Scallop Inn is a bed-and-breakfast guest house only few steps from the main downtown area, yet it is very quiet and serene. There is a large back garden with lounge chairs and patio tables for Periwinkle and Scallop Inn guests to use. We stayed four nights at the Scallop Inn. The house is immaculate. They provide free internet access and the rooms are equipped with television, a large sofa and plenty of high quality towels and robes. The staff is very friendly. Coffee, tea, juice and fresh fruits are always at hand in the shared kitchen and in the mornings they offer cereals and muffins. There is also a small patio off the kitchen with table and chairs. I would recommend Scallop Inn if you are staying in Nantucket. It is clean, quiet and close to everything.
My husband and I recently stayed here for 4 nights with our 4-month-old baby. While the location is great and the inn itself is very quaint, we were very disappointed by the breakfast. For a place that calls itself a b&b, they should put a little more effort into the breakfast. The "continental breakfast" consisted of Yoplait yogurts, fruit, and stale, store-bought muffins. Needless to say, we ended up eating out every morning after the first day.
Periwinkle is very clean, Sonja keeps the place in tip-top shape. Walking distance to downtown. You can't beat the price of $140.00 for a queen bed and twin bed in the room.
Our stay at the Periwinkle Guest House was EXACTLY what we were looking for in a late summer getaway from Cape Cod. Our objectives were to tour the island on our bicycles, to walk to town for meals and to go to the Whaling Museum. It fit the bill PERFECTLY for us. There is an outdoor breakfast area where we sampled the organic fruits and basic breakfast items, just enough to get us going for the morning bike ride to Madaket or Sconset via the island's well maintained bike trails. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and approachable while not being overbearing. We even had a small Harbor view from our room which was a huge bonus. We cannot wait to stay again at the Periwinkle Guest House!
