This was our third time staying this year at The Hawthorn House-it is the perfect place to stay in Nantucket: excellant rooms and service! Not to mention the location-simply walk out the front door and you are in the thick of it. Great place to stay! -Chuck And Becky Allen

I stayed here in October for the island's first annual birding festival. The location is so convenient. You can walk everywhere, and can return to your room during the day easily. Right down the street is "Town" - a great restaurant with fusion/asian cuisine. The owners upgraded my room at no charge. It was wonderful, antique, comfortable, and full of windows and light. Gorgeous common room to relax with friends & a glass of wine. They don't serve breakfast, but that's a bonus to me. Keurig coffemaker is there. Coffee's all I need. There are several places in town to get breakfast if you want it. We were up early and off to birding by 7 AM. Cost me 1/2 what I have paid at other places. Will definitely be coming back.

If you're looking for a place to experience Nantucket in an atmosphere of simpler times, Hawthorn House is the place for you. My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night stay here in mid-September and the quirkiness of the Cubbyhole was pitch perfect for us - just the right amount of modern convenience while maintaining character and charm of days gone by.

Arrived on the 21st for our daughters wedding and were met by the owners Mitch and Diane Carl along with their dog,Rue. They were very helpful in getting us acclamated to the island and offered a few helpful money saving tips. We had an opportunity to see all the rooms as our friends and relatives took up all the rooms. They were quite nice with many antique furnishings the beds were quite comfotable and the rooms were very clean. Also, the location of the inn is central to everything shops restaurants the Whaling Museum gallerys the wharf etc. The weather was overcast and cool and the wedding turned out great which was at the White Elephant which you should take a walk to see.You should also go to the Whaling Museum which was quite informative as well as take a short tour of the island.
I would highly recommend the Hawthorn House.
