This review is a little overdue. I organized this stay for my best friend's bachelorette party at the end of July. David was easy to make arrangements with and was great. He is a little specific on his rules for the inn, but nothing out of the ordinary. We booked 2 rooms in the cottages in the back of the house. The rooms were perfect for 3 girls in each. Very spacious and we each had our OWN double bed! As I mentioned, we were on our bachelorette weekend so we definitely partied. I loved that we had direct access to our rooms from the outside rather than going through the inn because we were coming home pretty late. The breakfast was standard, but very nice. The patio in back was so beautiful and David clearly takes a lot of pride in his gardening. Staying at a b&b is not like staying at a hotel. It's more personal and people should expect to run into the owner and have a conversation. Sure, David is a little chatty, but excuse yourself if you have to go! Bottom line: seriously, the best weekend girls trip I have ever ever had and we are all planning on making this an annual thing at 76 Main! Thanks!

This is my second year staying here for the weekend of the Christmas Stroll. It is a beautiful place to stay. The room is clean and spacious. I love that is has hardwood floors and there are several rooms available with two beds per room since I travel with my Mother. The owner, David, is very nice and accommodating. There is a wonderful breakfast with a lot of different options to choose from. The location is very convenient because it is right in town but it is far enough so you don't get any noise. We actually enjoy that is is a quiet place to stay. We will definitely be back next year!

I read the reviews before booking here and there were very few negative ones. After experiencing the place myself I can hardly believe there are positive reviews. I've reread the negative reviews and they are dead on. This place is small, cramped, and "old damp cottagy" smelling. But don't dare open the windows even when the air conditioning isn't on. The bed linens are old and off-putting. The bathroom was unbelievably tiny. I can't remember ever being so uncomfortable in a room.
The owner is cranky and unhelpful. He outlined all his crazy rules for us but he would make no attempt to suggest a place we could go for dinner saying, "I don't know what you people like and I don't even know what's open."
We spent a horrible night with little sleep (thankfully we were booked for only one night) and left early in the morning to catch the ferry as quick as possible, passing up his cereal box collection breakfast and his morning list of rules.
This is a place that nightmares are made of. So far we haven't had any Flowers in the Attic dreams but we will certainly never return.

A wonderful August get-away for my husband and me... David was the perfect host... Accomodations excellent... Wonderful location... We had such a nice time... Would love to return to Nantucket and repeat our stay here... Thank you, David!
