“Great Inn, Great Inn Keepers, Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2011

Situated on picturesque Cliff Road,Century House is furnished with period antiques and has more books than many small libraries. JeanE and Jerry (the owners) are hospitable and engaging.. The entire staff is friendly and responsive.

Our room was nicely furnished and the bathroom was not only spotless but completely updated. Breakfast was truly outstanding with a wide array of high quality fruit and homemade muffins. The location is perfect with a short walk to town and "Steps Beach".

Given an opportunity to return to Nantucket we would welcome the opportunity to return to Century House.

“nice place to stay but pricey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011 via mobile

I recently booked a room at Century House in nantucket thru nantucketaccomodations who quoted the room rate but didn't add on their fees as well as taxes. Oh well. The Berry room is first floor so lots of traffic coming in and out Gerry has a sign on the door asking people to close gently but that's prettywell ignored. the room itself is huge by Natucket stds and comes with a nice shower & the tiniest bathroom I've evr seen. Gerry serves oatmeal and berries w/ homemade grnola. there are two private patios with porch area as well. gerry is very knowledgeable about the area and his dinner recs(esp. Languedoc!) were spot on. the house itself has been lovingly restored to its old stature. Its centrally located along bus lines(if you didn't bring a car) and about a 18 min. walk to town. If you do decide to bring your car ask them 4 a permit so you can park in spaces( parking at a premium). It was a nice place but bring your wallet

“As good as advertised.”

My wife and I made our first trip to Nantucket in late July. Based on reviews and reputation we stayed at the Century House. Overall it was a very good experience. A main draw to Nantucket are the historical homes. Staying in the CH, 175 years old, definitely added to the sense of experiencing old Nantucket. Our room was very nice and well appointed. As you would expect, both the room and the attached private bathroom were "cozy" but not cramped. The location is great. It is not right in town, so less noise and traffic, but literally only a 5 - 7 minute walk to Main Street. Our hosts were very nice and all the staff were helpful and responsive. Breakfast was as good as advertised. The only drawback was street noise. However, this is not likely CH specific. The streets in town are narrow and buses do make their way through town. If you end up on the street side of a B&B or hotel, particularly on the first floor, the street is less than 10 feet away!

“Perfection is hard to beat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2011

I stayed at Century House again this year. Why would I go anywhere else? This B&B is pristine, charming and in the perfect location. It's an easy walk to town, the wharf, or the beach. Jean E, Gerry and Otilia make certain your stay goes smoothly. They give wonderful suggestions for restaurants! My room-Partridge Berry- was absolutely gorgeous!(-don't try booking it if I'm scheduled to arrive.) Bowls of berries, fruit, secret recipe granola, muffins and oatmeal for breakfast. Freshly baked cookies and scones along with tea and coffee during the day. The veranda is lovely. So you see... Perfection is hard to beat.

“No place like Home?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

It's been said that there's no place like home, well, no so true if you're at Century House! The beds just may be more comfortable than what you have at home. I have never seen an array of fresh berries and fruits for breakfast along with a granola recipe discovered by the innkeepers themselves. Hats off to Gerry, JeanEllen and Otilia!
