Hi,
I was recently on island and I stopped in to inquire about rates at Captains Corners. I was told $200 per night for two adults and two kids (10 and 13).

Got home and called to make formal reservations I was told that the rate was $250.

The owners of the place were very arrogant and had a basically take or leave it attitude. Amazing that this place stays in business. Needless to say we decided to stay someplace where they are honest.......

Just returned from a great four night stay @ CC. Was a holiday week, so the island was a little crazy (traffic jams on Nantucket!?), but CC was our oasis from it all. Not being the typical uber-rich Nantucket guest, the CC was a bargain and as clean and comfortable as any $400+/night B&B on the island. Nothing fancy about the place, and the Victorian decor might not suit everyone, but if you're simply looking for a great basecamp from which to explore Nantucket and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, CC is the place for you.

A few specifics:

--the warm, homemade muffins are a perfect start to any beach day
--Mo, the innkeeper, is fantastic...there when you need her, and hanging in the background when you want to be left alone. Was literally as if she opened her home to us.
--great location on Easton St--a short walk to town and at an intersection that serves as a shuttle stop for both the Madaket and Jettie's Beach shuttles.
--if you get one of the rooms on the first floor, expect a little extra noise in the morning when people are hanging in the great room and grabbing breakfast. Not much to do about it except try to get a room upstairs.

So, that's what we got...if we make a return trip to ACK, we'll definitely be staying at the Corners (as do many of our friends)...

“Average stay, average price”

My husband, sister, her boyfriend and I choice to stay at the Captain's Corners cottage for the Nantucket wine festival. Captain's Corners is a bed and breafast but they also have small cottages about 1/2 block from the Inn. We choice this place because we were looking for an affordable, private cottage that would be near the wine festival. This worked perfectly for our two night stay.
I am rating it average because that is what it was. It was a basic two room cottage that consisted of a living room with a pull out sofa bed, coffee table, two chairs, tv and a small refrigerator. The bedroom featured a comfortable enough king size bed with a dresser. The bathroom was very small and the shower seemed to be made for a small, petite woman of no more than 4' tall. The shower head shoots straight at your face and there is no way to adjust it from being any other way. You are confined to one position because there is no where to move. I truthfully could not imagine staying longer than two nights if only because of this reason. (no tub either)
I must admit that the Inn keeper, Mo, was a delightful woman who took interest in making our stay as comfortable as possible and was very friendly upon checkin and checkout.
Overall, the cottage is in need of some updating but for the money, it served our purpose just fine.
**2 night stay for 4 people was $225 a night.
