My husband and I stayed at the Centerboard for 2 nights over New Years for a quiet getaway. This was the perfect place to stay! It is close to town but set a little bit outside so the streets were quiet and weren't busy. We stayed in the suite which made us feel at home since we had plenty of space (a bedroom, large bathroom and a sitting room with a fireplace). The room has a masculine feel to it but we heard it is getting a facelift soon. Lyn, the innkeeper, made sure we hag logs each day so we could enjoy the fireplace. She was also very helpful in giving us plenty of suggestions on where to eat (a lot of places were closed for the season), what to do for New Year's and things to do/near by scenic walks. She was even happy to sit and just chat with us over coffee or breakfast.

On our first day, we weren't around for afternoon tea so when we got back she brought us a lovely cheese and cracker plate. And she even shared some of her delicious chocolate cake with us the next day. Lyn's breakfast was great, especially her scones! It was a nice selection of baked goods, fruit, yogurt and cereals.

Since it is the off season the inn was very quiet which we enjoyed! All around, great place to stay!

My husband and I spent five days on Nantucket in June. We discovered the best place to stay on the Island because our Innkeeper, Lyn, made us feel right at home! The inn was decorated to make one immediately feel comfortable and at home. But the best part of being at the Centerboard was Lyn. She gave us tips on where to go and what to see on the Island. The morning continental breakfasts were delicious! We came home everyday to fresh baked goods with a refreshing beverage. We loved sitting on the front porch enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the sites. It was so relaxing! And the other guests we spoke with had the same kudos for Lyn and the Inn that we did. One couple said they have stayed at the Centerboard for years. Given the Innkeeper's warmth, humor and hospitality combined with the beautiful accomodations and relaxing atmosphere, we cannot imagine staying at any other inn on Nantucket! We arrived as strangers and felt that we left as friends.

My Wife and I recently stayed at the Centerboard and we cannot say enough good things about our stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, we stayed in room 3 for 4 nights. Lyn was absolutely the best possible innkeeper/ hostess. We are both vegans and when we told Lyn she immediately jumped on her laptop to find what she could make for us for breakfast. She made scones for us that next morning and I was in heaven. Each morning after she surprised us with a new muffin creation that she had found for us online. On our last day we had a 6 am flight too early for breakfast, but she had a little "to-go" spread for us. She made this visit and absolutely amazing one! We Highly Recommended the Centerboard and want to get back again very soon!

I am in the process of renovating a home on Nantucket and come to the island a couple times a month to check on the work. I found the island hotels a bit cost prohibitive for my purposes and was referred to the Centerboard by my general contractor. I have never stayed at a B & B or inn and I wasn’t expecting too much - I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that the Centerboard is on par with boutique hotels I have stayed at in the past. Very charming but perfectly up-to-date. I have stayed a total of 8 nights at the Centerboard (not consecutively but in October, November and December) and will spend several additional nights there until my renovations are done. Now that almost all of the inns are closed for the season, I was pleased to find the Centerboard stays open all year. It’s become a home away from home for me and I can’t thank Lyn enough for her consistent hospitality. I’m not a person who typically writes reviews, but the Centerboard Guest House is such a gem I feel compelled to write this as a Thank You. (P.S. Lyn’s cranberry muffins alone make it worth a visit!)
