“Very comfortable, clean, and friendly place to stay.”

This was the nicest hotel I've stayed at. The front desk was extremely friendly and, after I got into my room, I received a phone call from the front desk asking if everything was okay. I've NEVER received a courtesy phone call like that before. The room was spotless and the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good also. I would definitely stay here again!!

“just ok...if that”

I stayed at this Hampton Inn becuase was visiting a branch office of my company nearby. Since I'm from Montreal and Auburn was only a 6 hour drive, I decided to take my wife and 3 kids along with me to make it a quick getaway.

The first problem that I encountered was when trying to check in - the room was not ready at 2pm. We decided to kill some time and let the kids go swimming at the indoor pool. The hottub was flourescent green and stunk. The pool looked ok, but later one of my kids got an ear infection "swimmers ear", likely from the unbalanced pool there.

The second (major) problem that I had was that when making my reservation I clearly specified t hat I needed late check-out as my business meeting was until 4pm (check out was 11am) and I needed a place for my family to stay while I was at work. I was told (when making the reservation) that late checkout would cost me an extra $70 (half of the full day day rate) for the additional 5 hours in the room - I reluctantly agreed. The problem - is that when I was getting ready to leave in the morning, they informed me that it would be impossible to accomodate my late checkout request as they were in an oversold situation and I had to vacate the room by 11am! Unbelieveable! After negotiating with the manager for over an hour, they finally "did us a big favour" and allowed us the late check-out for $90.

Last stay at that hotel for me.

“Typical Hampton Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 April 2010

Just your average Hampton Inn.

Positives:
- The hotel is right off the Mass Pike, 290 and 395. Easy access to all three major highways.
-The hotel is tucked away on a small lake/pond so it's pretty quite.
The rooms are nice and comfortable. Good, comfortable beds. Each room has it's own thermostat.
-Service is pretty good. The people at the desk are friendly and helpful.
- Decent pool and hot tub for a hotel like this.

Negatives.
- The gym consists of a treadmill, eliptical and stationary bike. The hotel does not have an affiliation with any local gyms
- Local eats consist of an Outback and Applebees. You have to get in the car and travel a way to find something else.
- Very basic breakfast
- Wireless internet connection is usually ok but can get pretty slow at times

It's a decent place to stay if you have work to do in central or north east Connecticut.

“Needs improvement!”

Stay here when we travel to visit family in Worcester, MA. Front desk staff not friendly or helpful. They are dressed way too casual - no name tags or identification. Looked like they wandered in from the highway.
Washer 'ate' my money. Front desk could care less about the problem.
Coffee at breakfast was ALWAYS cold. Breakfast area not cleaned . Very messy.
Rooms were average and clean.
Will not stay here again - will try the Fairfield.

“Nice hotel..could use some improvement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 March 2010

I stayed at this hotel during my visit to New England. We toured new england for 5 weeks. This is a nice hotel, clean and quiet. THe staff could be little bit more helpful. It seems that they are bothered when you ask them for something. Overall its a fine hotel for a day or two.
