I chose this hotel for it's proximity to the Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket where my mother is having surgery today. I was glad it was so close to the highway but that is where the 'pros' end. Cons:
X Right next to a strip club (Huge sign: ADULTS XXX)
X Directly adjacent to Railroad tracks. Sounds like a plane is taking off overhead.
X 'Non-smoking' room smells like someone's been smoking in it for 20 years.
Worst yet, I found a crack pipe in the toilet. A LEGIT crack pipe. I fished it out with a plastic bag and took it to the front desk, where they were polite but acted like they could care less. They said, "you can check out if you like". We opted to stay because my mother is in the hospital but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. It's a bad location.

The staff was very courteous (as they were at all the Days Inns we stayed at this trip) but the neighborhood was rough and the electric commuter train passes right next to it; a quite train granted, but a train none the less. If you're staying here because Boston is so expensive, you're much better off staying at the Days Inn in Methuen, about the same distance from Boston and same price but a much better hotel.

The staff are all very nice ESP. John at the front desk. I don't have a car, and John offered to give me a ride to downtown Pawtucket where I could take public transportation, when he's off the night shift. I was very thankful and happy, and booked one extra night. The blonde lady at day time shift is also ver nice and helpful

My experience with Days Inn and reviews on Priceline showed average reviews. Upon arriving there the staff at front desk was friendly. First clue, groups of guys (gangs?) hanging out in parking lot, second clue, no security lock on outside doors to rooms, third clue, the moment you enter there is a stench that would drop a buzzard from a wagon of cow manure which lasted the entire corridor to and into the nonsmoking room. Though outdated, that doesn't concern me as much as cleanliness and safety. A giant glass window in each room (with views to the train tracks less than 500 ft away... hey free vibrating bed?) had curtains that were off the rod, would not shut all the way. Hair in the tub and upon checking for bed bugs (to which there were none) we found hair in sheets. This was a Friday night stay (of about 15 minutes) at about 7pm where there was pounding on the walls, screaming, partying by a group a few rooms down, doors wide open, very unsettling site. Upon asking for a refund, was not given one, had to ask manager in the morning... was given option of another room RIGHT BELOW the partiers and next to the stairwell where another group of undesirables were hanging out. Left, checked out. Called priceline, called manager, no refund was given BUT I was given a discount on my next stay..... NO WAY... Did I say that it is beside XXX Porn shop? Worst experience I have had in my ears of traveling. Manager was unwilling to work with me as he "told the group they could not come back, so he could not possibly refund my money because he lost a block of six rooms for one night NEXT year at this time".... This will tell you about the management, clientelle,,,,, make your decision based on this truthful review.... no exagerations.
