A group of friends and I stayed in this hotel for a long weekend for the Macedonia Scotland football match

It's certainly not a 5 star hotel, but from what I heard from others who where staying in other hotels around Skopje it's perhaps Macedonian 5 star.

The Rooms where clean but basic. The staff where friendly enough and the breakfast was good.

It's only a short ride by taxi to the city centre and the yellow taxis are cheap however we got ripped of a few times by the other taxi firms (the wanted to charge 5 times the amount).

overall I have no complaints about this hotel it was good for what we where looking for and if anyone was travelling to Macedonia i would recommend it.

The Aleksandar Palace names itself a 5 star hotel. After arrival and checking into my room I asked myself why they don't write 10 star or even 15 star? It's just soooo far away from what you expect from a 5 star hotel!

The hotel is a cheap built quare and functional building, rooms are typical 3 star (including bathroom). The lobby is nothing else than tastless with terrible paintings on the wall.

Internet in the room is free, in the lobby they charge money.

I wouldn't stay at this Hotel again - but I guess there's no better one in Skopje.

Great hotel, free internet access in room, great service, very friendly and helpfull reception (great restaurant ideas) All together, perfect hotel, great for business, a bit outside of town tough, but taxi prices are not too high and all is just perfect in this place.

Cleary will use this hotel again and can recommend it to everybody without hesitation.

Stayed here a couple of times. It's the best hotel in Macedonia although you'll have to take a taxi into Skopje (about 10 minutes) but taxis are cheap and plentiful.

Hotel has hosted the England football team and the Dutch team were there when I stayed. The enjoyable thing was that no one cared who they were!

On entering the hotel there is a huge atrium with the rooms arranged around circular balconies all looking down to the ground floor. Glass lifts take you up to the floors.

Rooms are large and clean and comfortable.

Staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is exquisite. The cafe sells the most beautiful pastries.

If you're brave, venture into the basement casino where, after walking through a metal detector manned by a couple of intimidating doormen, you'll be gambling in the company of the hardest, toughest looking guys I've seen. It's like a scene from a Bond film.

This must be where the gangster population of Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania come to fritter away their variuos currencies. Well worth a visit.

In short. If you're travelling to Macedonia, this is the place to stay.
