Hotel is not near the bus / train station nor very near the city center and old town. We have to take a cab which costs 2-3 euros to get out or walk about 20 minutes to get to center.

Room is spacious, bed comfy, bathroom wasnt very clean, toilet bowl wasnt scrubbed and we found blood or hopefully stains on the comforter which is pretty unacceptable in a hotel (hence the low rating!). Breakfast is average, nothing more than what you can find in other hotels in Europe. I'd rather go for a hotel that is more conveniently located. Staff is rather helpful though their command of English is just average.

Pick the rooms in the second floor if possible. They are much nicer than in the ground floor.

It is a bit apart from the city center, but if you dont care walking 20 minutes it is perfectly OK.

Hotel Leonardo is located out of city center, still within a moderate walking distance. The hotel has a small parking lot, and I could leave my motorbike right there. It was very hot in Skopje, and I was glad my room had air conditioning.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave recommendations about what to see and where to eat in Skopje. They often entered into a little chat with guests.

The breakfast buffet offered a relatively small selection, but what was available was good.

I picked this property based on rate and the reviews that were on booking.com.

The property arranged a very cost effective and efficient airport transfer with an English speaking driver so that we could avoid the cowboys at the airport.

Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was small, and yes, the colours are interesting. The AC leaked water the whole time it was on and the bathroom was very small, and the shower had only a hand held shower.

I asked the reception for help on finding tickets for the Rabotnicki football match and he told me to look on the Internet. I wasn't terribly impressed with that answer, and my ability to read cyrillic online is limited but I found out myself by asking someone at a restaurant in the centre.

I did have a reservation to stay a second time a week later but opted for a more expensive hotel right in the centre, as this hotel is too far from the centre.
