I really do enjoy staying here in Hotel Vergina. I spend half of my life in Hotels all around the world because of business reasons and I regret that nearly no 5 star hotels can beat it.
The reason? The mediterranian feeling. The beautiful garden with 2 small pools and terasse, the frienly and nice staff. I feel like home and for me it means much more than any fancy elevators and golden inserts in big elite Hotel.
All the rooms are equipped with aircon, wich is a must in 38 degrees and there is a small fridge, where you can store your beverages in. Not a minibar for a fortune.
On the other hand, the Hotel is located directly beside a busy highway which makes the garden a bit noisy but I asked for a room on the opposite side and it is quiet.
They have free WiFi in the rooms and outside as well. There is a small gym with basicly one multifunctional machine which is maybe not the best for serious body builders but any who wants to make some excercises can find enough function on it for most of the muscle groups.
The gym is also included in the price. Just like everything else but the drinks. By the way, the breakfast is not the best. The quality is OK, but the range is a bit poor. I missed the vegetables.
The only real disadvantage is the location of it. The busy highway and that it is really in the middle of nowhere. There is only one restaurant in walking distance and that's it. Only gas stations and car dealers. The river Vardar is about 400meters away where you can jog, ride a bike and it leads you to the city center which is about 45 minutes by walk.
More lazy guys should take a taxi which is quite reasonable. About 3-4hundred Denars to the center. (about 6 Euros)
I would recommend this Hotel for Families with small children, for a group of friends to make some party outside and business travellers who wants to feel like they are on holliday after work.
In winter time I would take an other hotel closer to the center If I had to stay for a longer period.
