The Rose Diplomatique is a lovely hotel situated as it name suggests in the embassy area of the city. It is just a 10 minute walk into the centre and in a very safe and quiet area.
We were only in Skopje for 1 night and the hotel was perfect for our requirements - though being british we would have liked tea & coffee making facilities in our room! The room was clean, very high on chintz and well appointed.
The staff were helpful and spoke very good English, my only criticism is that prior to our arrival I had emailed to ask for assistance in arranging a night train to Belgrade and was advised such a train didn't exist. I found this information to be incorrect and we actually were able to book our tickets in the train station when we first arrived in Skopje. Whilst I don't expect a hotel to know everything I would expect them to have simple things like train & bus schedules.
The garden was lovely and we enjoyed a drink whislt we waited for our taxi to take us to the train station on our evening of departure.
Breakfast was included in the price and was fine, though the coffee was so strong I had to have it cold by making it more than 50% milk! I'm sure others would think it was fine, so this is not a criticism, but rather down to personal taste.
For price and location I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting skopje.
