Booked this hotel after reading recommendations on this site. I'm not a fussy traveller by any means but my biggest gripe was the amount of noise between 2am-4am generated by the cleaners in the restaurant below. This happened every night. Not knowing the source of the noise the first night I honestly thought the room next door was being renovated! If you can imagine the cleaners below scraping every restaurant chair along the wooden floor so they could vacuum - you might get the picture. Chinese torture. As I gathered that every room was on the same floor (i.e. the 1st floor) I wouldn't imagine this would be different for any other room.
There were 2 hotel staff from what I could gather; one (seemingly the owner) sadly did not exactly go out of her way to make us feel welcome. Okay, language may be a barrier but it still doesn't prevent folk from at least appearing to make the extra effort. The other member of staff on the other hand was very friendly and helpful. The front desk is not frequently staffed but this isn't really a problem; a quick hop down the stairs to the restaurant and word soon gets around followed by a rapid appearance.
The restaurant below was excellent. Good staff, good variety, reasonably decent standard food and modestly priced. If you're a non-smoker however then beware. This isn't a fair critic of the restaurant however because the entire Balkan states are one large ashtray!
