Horace Kellogg Homestead is a historic house (1828) restored to have a historic flavor with modern conveniences. The two bedrooms are beautiful and spacious. Although they don't have private bathrooms, this was not a problem for us because there are two modern bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, just a few steps from the bedrooms, and robes are provided. A/C is available. Our bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was sumptuous and tasty, and Susan, the proprietor, checks out your food preferences carefully when you arrive. She and her husband are friendly and welcoming, always ready to tell you about the house and the Amherst area and to answer your special needs. The location is a mile from Amherst center on the main street south out of town--easy to find--in a beautiful wooded area.. And the price makes Horacce Kellogg Homestead a real bargain.
