“Charming, warm and inviting”

Right on the edge of the city, this beautiful Victorian bed and breakfast was a good choice for us to spend New Year's Eve. Every room is lavishly decorated, our bedroom was newly renovated and the bedroom was charming. The private bath is enormous with both a shower and bathtub. Breakfast the next day was amazing, a fresh fruit cup of berries and melon and stuffed french toast and sausages. Eric the cat is sweet and adorable and loves to be snuggled with. The owner and host were extremely hospitable to us and kept us good company as the ball dropped on tv. I would love to visit this location again.

Room Tip: Lots to do in town, big festivals and arts with MassMoca

“Great stay in lovely Victorian Inn”

We really loved our 2 night stay in this cosy inn. The warm welcome, the friendly atmosphere during breakfast with other guests. We even had a glass of wine at the fireplace in the hall one night. The staff was very helpfull in recommanding us where to go for dinner and what to visit nearby. We loved the MASSMOCA! We hiked at mount Greylock and enjoyed the beatifull colors of the indian summer. The local pub is walking distance from the inn.

“Charming Inn with an excellent location and great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

I had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at this charming inn with my family from October 11th to 14th. Great value for money, excellent location and extremely clean. Couldn’t ask for anything more. I have stayed at a few other B&Bs in the North East prior to this trip and this was, by far, my best experience.

We were warmly greeted by the staff at the inn upon our arrival. He was also very un-intrusive during our stay: joined us for coffee at breakfast, offered us directions/help when needed, but otherwise left us to our own.

The entire inn is clean and very spacious. It has all the facilities/amenities that you would need in a B&B and the charm of an old colonial house. For me, a city-boy, staying at the inn provided me a nice respite from the city. The Keurig machine in the living room was a very nice touch (there are ample K-cups for most tastes) and it made grabbing a cup of coffee to have on our nice drives around the area that much easier. The house cat Eric is probably the sweetest, most un-intrusive 14 year-old cat that one will ever come across (and in my view, probably misunderstood by the earlier reviewers.)

The rooms were impeccably clean, had beautiful bedding and the furniture was ergonomically arranged. We were pampered for choice when it came to breakfast. On the first day, we had this really delicious egg casserole with sausages & bacon on the side. Our breakfast on the second day deserves special mention: the staff at the inn personally made us some lovely banana bread. Nothing like homemade banana bread in the fall!

The location of this inn is awesome as it is right smack in the middle of everything in the Berkshires: Mt Greylock and MassMoCA are just 15 minutes to the north and the Norman Rockwell museum, 20 minutes to the south. Made travelling around the Berkshires that much easier and more enjoyable.

I will definitely return to this inn the next time I come to the Berkshires. It was a very memorable experience and certainly an experience that was accentuated by the warmth of this charming inn that came with a personal touch.

Room Tip: Appalachian Trail Room if you want a private bathroom, Overlook Trail Room if you want a day bed

“Cozy and comfortable in the Berkshires without the hype”

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the inn. The innkeeper was there all weekend and had added many features since my last visit like new dining room furniture, new sofas, comfortable rocking chairs, etc. The place is impeccably clean and neat which means a lot to me. Yes, there is a cat, but he's a friendly little bugger and loves to be lavished with attention. The other guests were wonderfully pleasant company and made the breakfast meals that much more entertaining. Adams itself is a quaint town in the heart of the Berkshires and a great hub to all that Western Mass. has to offer. The people are extremely kind and friendly. I recommend the Daily Grind downtown if you're looking for a quick bite. It's a nice little sandwich shop with excellent prices and an equally good menu.

“A very poor choice for a place to stay!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

We arrived to find the Inn keeper gone and the off site caretaker just coming in to clean late on Sunday. We stayed alone in the house, a large Victorian on Sunday night. I could not believe what I saw. A chair torn to pieces in a VERY sparsely furnished living room with broken down couches...no tables on which to even set a cup of coffee, a dining room table with half mismatched dining chairs, and the others card table chairs. There was a tv room with seating for 4 that was a little more comfortable, though just one lamp for reading. The furniture in the bedrooms was laughable. It was beat up and very unattractive. The bed was comfortable however and the only piece that was nice. Breakfast was a muffin, cold cereal of the fruit loop and raisin bran variety(where is Kashi when you need it), a small bowl of fruit and yogurt. Meager offering compared to other places we have stayed. The care takers were pleasant and helpful. However this Inn Keeper needs to come home and take care of a very poor business if he wants repeat customers. Eric the cat can be annoying. So if you are looking for a lovely place to stay this is not it.

Although I am not always at the Inn, I read every review and Guest Survey that is submitted. I am constantly looking for ways to improve the Inn and, more importantly, the guest experience. I am always concerned when guests experience do not match their expectations and we do our best to describe the experience they can expect, including Eric the cat and our breakfast offerings.

The chair mentioned has been replaced with two newer chairs from the TV room and more chairs brought into the TV room. The dining room chairs were already on the replacement list and the new chair are a new set that match the rooms decor.
