“OMG, the best of the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

What an experience. We had never stayed at a B n B before this and let me say that the ROYAL FOLLY will be hard to beat. We had the best experience ever. Pat and Ed, what can one say. Their hospitality and friendliness that they showed goes way above what one could ever expect. Their knowledge of Annapolis was superb as well as their recommendations for restaurants / pubs that they felt offered the best value and best food. We WILL be back, that I can definitely say. We were treated not like royalty, but like friends. Pat and Ed, oh and Samson too, THANKS for a wonderful experience, and leave a light on for the friendly ghost. ----- George and Robyn

“Pat and Ed made me a Fan of Bed and Breakfasts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 October 2010

My husband and I have never voluntaily stayed at a bed and breakfast, but for his birthday I decided to surprise him with something he would never expect- an overnight stay at Royal Folly. From the second we arrived, I loved Pat and Ed and their beautiful residence- Pat has a sense of humor and New England wit to die for, and Ed is as hospitable and warm as they come. Our room - the Queens Chambers- was magical, all jeweled tones...with a luscious comfortable bed and gigantic bathroom. There is just a small tv in the room, which was an unexpected good thing since the getaway was romantic in nature. Breakfast the following morning was superb- crab frittata and something called strawberry soup, which nourished our wrethched hangovers.:) We met wonderful people at breakfast and enjoyed and all-around A plus stay. The price to stay here is significant, but worth it. We would return anytime with pleasure.

“The room and breakfasts were superb.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2010

I originally chose this bed and breakfast because of its location. I had never been to a b&b before and didn't really know what to expect. From the moment I came in the front door, Pat and Ed made me feel at home, and they worked hard to ensure I had a great stay. I'm on a special diet, and the breakfasts took account of this, but were also delicious--far better than I was expecting. Breakfasts were also served at a reasonable hour, so that I didn't have to get up too early on the weekend. The room was quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. I am severely visually impaired but had no problems thanks to the courteous assistance which Pat and Ed provided. I was lucky to find this bed and breakfast, and I look forward to staying there again when I return to Annapolis. People are different, and no one lodging can be perfect for everyone; but the Annapolis Royal Folly was all I could have wanted.

“Great location, comfortable, delicious breakfasts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the Royal Folly with Ed and Pat as gracious proprietors. The location is superb as it is within walking distance to the historic district, restaurants, the Naval Academy and St John's College. Our room was spacious and comfortable but on a lower level ---- we would have preferred an upper floor room with more natural light but unavailable. The breakfasts were delicious served in a lovely dining room. Ed and Pat were very accommodating and helpful. The cost per night is on the high side.

“"Wonderful Stay"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 August 2010

Royal Folly was our first experience in a bed and Breakfast and they met our expectations. The house is in a perfect location, close to everything.
Ed and Pat are very gracious hosts, breakfast was amazing both days that we stayed and they make amazing tour guides. They knew the best restaurants and what was worth to do and see. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Annapolis.
