We had a wedding in Annapolis so we needed a place to stay. It happened to be the weekend of the boat show so hotel rooms were hard to come by. We were told the Homestead had a room so we booked it for $99.00. When we got there we had to wait awhile for them to find us a room. When they finally found us a room they charged us $119.00. I promptly corrected them and they changed the price. The elevator was slow so we decided to take the steps. On our way up the steps, our children asked us what was all over the carpet. We looked and there was vomit on the rug. We got to our room and it smelled, more like a floral scent. But the odor was very strong so I opened the window. As I was opening the window there were cigarette buts on the windowsill-this was a non-smoking room. I called the manager and he promptly came up and removed them. We asked about another room but there weren't any available. We decided to just go out and go to our relative's house before the wedding. On our way out, we noticed the smoke alarm wasn't connected. We called the desk and they said that someone would be up to find it and connect it. We returned to the room at 10:30pm with our two, very tired children. When we got into the room, it was freezing, since I had left the window open and I proceeded to turn on the heat. Within two minutes, of turning on the heat, the smoke alarm went off. That was the last straw. I called the front desk and the person asked if I wanted some Febreeze to get the heat smell out of the room. That's when I realized that was the horrible smell I smelled when we first walked into the room. I asked if there were any more rooms and were told there weren't. I knew I could not keep my family in that room all night. My one child has asthma. We then asked if we could get our money refunded if we left,we were told we could but we were also told good luck in finding a room at this time of night. So we left and we did get our money refunded.
