“Great value, great amenities, good location”

We stayed in a studio with a queen bed, a pull-out couch, a kitchenette, and a table for eating and doing work, for around $80. AND they accept pets for a small additional fee. Also, free continental breakfast. The room was not large, but it served our needs perfectly. We were able to hook up to wireless internet and do some work, we had our kitten with us, and we could make food instead of eating out every meal. It was in a quiet location just a few minutes from downtown Annapolis. Good value.

“Not terribly clean, extremely basic amenities”

Staff is unprofessional, probably due to youth and inexperience. Could hear them talking about me while I walked down the hall near them. Gave me the wrong room number which was very embarrassing when it turned out I was trying to get into some little old ladies room. I keep finding stray hairs all over the bathroom that don't belong to me. I don't really recommend staying here if you care about cleaniness. I'm a little grossed out.

“Worst Hotel I ever stayed in”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2007

We had a wedding in Annapolis so we needed a place to stay. It happened to be the weekend of the boat show so hotel rooms were hard to come by. We were told the Homestead had a room so we booked it for $99.00. When we got there we had to wait awhile for them to find us a room. When they finally found us a room they charged us $119.00. I promptly corrected them and they changed the price. The elevator was slow so we decided to take the steps. On our way up the steps, our children asked us what was all over the carpet. We looked and there was vomit on the rug. We got to our room and it smelled, more like a floral scent. But the odor was very strong so I opened the window. As I was opening the window there were cigarette buts on the windowsill-this was a non-smoking room. I called the manager and he promptly came up and removed them. We asked about another room but there weren't any available. We decided to just go out and go to our relative's house before the wedding. On our way out, we noticed the smoke alarm wasn't connected. We called the desk and they said that someone would be up to find it and connect it. We returned to the room at 10:30pm with our two, very tired children. When we got into the room, it was freezing, since I had left the window open and I proceeded to turn on the heat. Within two minutes, of turning on the heat, the smoke alarm went off. That was the last straw. I called the front desk and the person asked if I wanted some Febreeze to get the heat smell out of the room. That's when I realized that was the horrible smell I smelled when we first walked into the room. I asked if there were any more rooms and were told there weren't. I knew I could not keep my family in that room all night. My one child has asthma. We then asked if we could get our money refunded if we left,we were told we could but we were also told good luck in finding a room at this time of night. So we left and we did get our money refunded.

“WORST EXPERIENCE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2006

This was the worst experience I have encountered in a hotel. This place appears to be a local hangout for drunk kids to party. There were people yelling and screaming and banging on walls throughout the night. They were also running around the halls slamming doors and disturbing other guests. Furthermore, it took over one hour to find someone on duty that was physically present within the hotel to help.

If you don't mind a cheap place to stay without any sleep that allows drunk immature people to party and disturb others then this is the place for you. I recommend sleeping in your car rather than this place.

“Very Basic but nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2006

We've stayed in many places in Annapolis and while not luxurious, it is certainly an excellent value for the area. It's modern, it's CLEAN and it has everything you need like a laundry and kitchenette. Maid service is not daily unless requested and toiletries are sparse so bring your own shampoo. Employees are very helpful and pleasant. Good location.
