I investigated hotels online in preparation for an Annapolis visit with my daughter and her fiance. They had enjoyed Loews, but wanted to try a different hotel. O'Callaghans looks wonderful from the website. I was further enticed by the friendly gentleman who handled my reservation by phone. He had a fitting Irish brogue. The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient upon check-in. I was not warmed by the appearance of the lobby. Although clean and appropriately furnished, it was not a comfortable setting. Our room was average in appearance. I was immediately dismayed by the stained carpeting and "rough edges" in the room. We had a minor problem and was promptly moved to a different room which shared the same lack of an update. On a positive note, the e-cruiser which brought us around town was delightful and the bath amenities were of superior quality. The bed was overly firm, but the linens and pillow were comfy. Upon checkout, a different front desk staff member failed to inquire about our stay. It is doubtful that we would return to this hotel unless the rate was much more reasonable.
Room Tip: Choose a room with a balcony. They are spacious and have a small table with chairs.
