“What a waste”

As a Hilton Honors members I have stayed in my share of Hiton hotels both good and bad. This one is definately on the bad range. I had planned a nice pre Valintines weekend with my wife; Movie, a wonderful dinner and a stay at a nice hotel. Well in all fareness at first glance it seemed to be a win all the way around. Upon check in and recieving the room key cards I was deirected to what seemed to be the rear area of the hotel property. Well it was, as I brought out a luggage rack I noticed that the hotel was actually right next to (75yrds away) MD route 50/301 a MAJOR Hwy. This was not visible from the nice quiet front where you check in. In the elivator there were signs that said that the property was under renavation , it seemed as if things were going well with that because the property looked up to date and thgere was no construction noise. When we entered the room I noticed that things were clean but there were doors for a adjoining rooms on each side of our room. There was a distinct load noise of the hwy. After dinner around 9pm that noise sounded like a roar and as it got later the hall way traffic and noise was rediculouse. The other patrons, I'm guessing in thier early to mid twenties continously stood in the hall way talking and slaming their room doors. I called the front desk several times and to their credit, they did dispatch security to come up and talk to the patrons. That did little to no good, in fact they got loader as did the CONSTANT HWY NOISE outside our room window. By 1145 I was calling the manager to get a refund and leave. So if you want a reasonably priced quiet stay stay; stay some place else....

“Good location for business traveler”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The Doubletree in Annapolis was a fair hotel. i felt the rooms were a little dated. I could hear road traffic through my window although never so loud that it bothered me. My rate included a breakfast buffet that was pretty good. I liked the location as I could drive to old Annapolis and there was also a shopping mall conveniently near the hotel. It's located pretty close off the expressway. I would not mind staying here again but definitely not if I was on vacation.

“I'd probably compare it to a Super8- Good & Bad experience.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

I recently stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel. My experience was good and bad. The front desk staff was nice, provided us with our signature cookies- which were delicious, and were courteous in explaining how to get to our room.I stayed on New Years Eve, so I figured there may be some noise throughout the hotel. I didn't know there would be numerous noises throughout the entire night. I came with 2 other couples, so we had three rooms. We were all completely spread apart from the hotel- one on one side of the hotel, another on the complete opposite end of the hotel and the thrid couple at the complete top of the hotel. We all booked together- I guess we shouldn't assume they'd put us together since we booked together and were a group of three couples.

We were in room #165. DO NOT STAY HERE- Move as far away and as far up as possible from this room!

First, to get to my room, I had to walk past a party that was in one of the reception halls- there were food buffets in the middle of the walkway, people standing all around and it was somewhat hard to get back and forth through the hall- we tried to be as courteous to the guests as possible and weave in and out through them.

Secondly, the ice machine was loud and continuously ran the entire night. I suppose people were getting ice for their drinks- unfortunately I was stuck in a room next to the machine.

Thirdly, there was another party going on below us in one of the other banquet rooms and I could hear the bass "bumping" until it ended. Again, I understand it was NYE, I just didn't expect to hear it so loudly. It seemed like the walls and floors were paper thin.

Lastly, we could hear each little noise from the next room. The neighbors were laughing all night and it literally sounded like they were sitting right in our room with us. They continued to get loud throughout the night and progressed to having sex. I could literally hear every noise they made, the moaning and groaning, the bed moving, etc. It was a noise/image that I didn't want to hear as I was lying in bed trying to get to sleep. I can handle the ice machine if I have to, but the people next to us having sex making all kinds of loud noises was just ridiculous.

The staff was courteous when checking out, it was a simple process and they gave us cookies again. They didn't ask how our stay was, so I ended up sending a comment to them from their website.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the linens/pillows were nice. The bathroom was a good size and was clean as well. The walls and curtains seemed as if they needed to be revamped- A little bit outdated.

The hotel was in a good area and there were a lot of restaurants and shopping a hop, skip and a jump away. The parking lot was nice, with parking right out front- not too far of a walk to get to the lobby.

I would probably stay here again if I was in the area, but I'd make sure not to do it on a holiday when a bunch of parties would be going on. I'd probably ask for a room on the highest floor they have.

There is not a continental breakfast- you either have to go to one of their restaurants or order room service- min. price was $8 for some juice and a muffin.

I would most likely compare this hotel to a Super 8.

Room Tip: I would suggest any room that is on the highest floor they have and on a corner so you don't hav...

“Best in this class near Annapolis:”

stayed 3 times in 4 weeks and preffered it to the Hilton Inn and the Residence Inn, both were nearby. Having a decent restaurant in the hotel is a big plus compared to the others I mentioned.

“Nice Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

Stayed here for our company Holiday Party and had an excellent, pleasurable experience. The party in the ballroom was perfect, beautifully decorated, wonderful food, high quality service.
Plenty of parking close to the entrance. Lobby was welcoming, with cheerful, helpful staff., such as Katelyn, who also helped with directions to the hotel, when I got turned around. The room was clean and comfortable. One of the two beds was firmer than the other, so I slept in that one. The room door was not 'flush' wiht the door jam, but seemed to work properly.
Keith was helpful when I needed some items items at the front desk during the wee hours of the morning.
William, the kitchen manager was helpful with my food order for breakfast. Checking out was easy and expedious, thanks to Hallye at the front desk.
