OK, Scotlaur is kind of a unique place, and people will obviously divide on certain things, like if you find the check in at the crowded deli and the casual staff annoying or, as I, very welcoming, warm and loaded with personality. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are small, but they are charming, have a lot of character, and are suprisingly quiet, considering th location. Beds are comfortable. This is not a major amenities kind of place, and if you are looking for the Four Seasons, with cute toiletries and fluffy designer towels, you won't like it. But I have gone many times, and I always ended up wishing I could just move in. The deli food is great (the Patty Melt is the food of the gods). I love the friendly, homey atmosphere (I'd walk in the deli and one of the staff would yell "Hi, Chicago guy!" and the lack of pretension. The rooms are very clean - I have NEVER been bitten by bedbugs here as the poster below claims (though I have in places that cost four times as much). The location is ideal, and while the parking lot is cheap and close, you can leave your car there unless you want to poke around DC, as everything in Annapolis is walkable. This is not a luxury place, but it is a total delight. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Annapolis. Love this place.
