We knew when we couldn't find the hotel off of the main drag that we were in trouble. Luckily Alex is not that big, the front desk talked us in. Check-in went well, but the sign at the elevator saying no more than two at a time, promised between-floors adventures.
The rooms turned out to be OK, a little worn, but quiet. The shower was strong and hot.
Breakfast was especially disappointing, sure its Continental, but muffins in little plastic bags was a real low point in the stay.

Most of the staff seemed to be very dissatisfied. Every time I went to the front desk, there would be at least one employee hanging out there, talking to the clerk. Others were outside smoking, and wherever I saw them, they were complaining! I called the front desk for additional towels, and they told me I would have to come get them. When I got there, there were three employees, talking and reading over some letter (probably a complaint), and when one finally decided to go get the towels, she told me to follow her as she ambled down the hallway, reading the letter all the way. She ran across another employee and began discussing the letter with her - all the while I'm standing by, waiting for my towels! She finally reached into a cabinet, handed me an armload of towels, and walked away - no "have a nice day, can I help you further," nothing. Very unfriendly people. The room itself was clean enough, but there were definitely some problems (we had to step over bed linens on our way out - the cleaning staff just throws them out into the hall every morning). Not a good stay - I won't be back.

We stayed at The Comfort Inn in Alexandria,Louisana while visiting our son before he had to ship to Iraq for his military duty. He is expected to be there for a year. He left his boots at The Comfort Inn located at 2001 N Bolton Ave in Alexandria Louisana. I called the hotel and they told me they had my credit card was on file and the boots would be shipped. I never received the boot and so I called back and they said they did not know what I was talking about. So I filed a police report. The police talked to the owner and he said the boots were left there so they could not be stolen and the owner was retired navy and he stands by the military He said he did not have the boots we would not be getting the boots back. So much for his standing by the military. Our son is in Iraq now and he still needs his boots. So much for 100% guarantee satisfaction claims from the Comfort Inn hotel in Alexandria.
