First of all, this was my first time bringing my dog to a hotel, so that has something to do with my evaluation.

We arrived around 10pm and went to our room. We got into our room and noticed the carpet wasn't laid well and there were creases all in it. This might've been laid for a pet specific room, we aren't really sure. We tried to turn on the heat and keep the room at a comfortable temperature but there was no thermostat. The room was either super hot or super cold. No comfortable middle.

The internet was fine, no issues there, but we had problems keeping the power cord plugged into a socket. There weren't many sockets available, and those that were available didn't hold the plug very well.

The room seemed to amplify all noise around us. Anyone walking by we could hear. We had 2 doors in the room, 1 outside and 1 into a hallway. We could hear every car, truck, or motorcycle that went by. If ANYONE was outside we could hear them (and so could our dog, who would then bark/growl). Our dog was super uncomfortable in the hotel and was being ultra-protective (which we've never experienced before, and she didn't behave this way at the hotel we stayed at the following night). I ended up calming down our dog enough to sleep around 3am.

We got up the next morning and I went to check out the breakfast. I wasn't that interested in what was being offered so I went across the street to McDonalds. My SO went to the breakfast at 9am as it was being put away. His food was stale and the selection was minimal. Ending breakfast at 9am on a Saturday morning seems really early.

Had a small issue at checkout but it was handled well by the staff.

All in all, I would probably bypass this hotel and stay somewhere else if I were to find myself in the area. The price was too high (with a pet fee) for the experience we had.

Good size rooms, very courteous front desk,good watdr pressure,excellent breakfast,very good value overall.

Not the best appointed motel, but a good value. The owners seem to be taking care of this property, and it's in a good location if you're interested in visiting Alexandria, LA. Our room had both an entrance and exit door, both of which were outside doors. This was a security drawback, although nothing untoward happened. OK for the $$.

After traveling over 8000 miles, it was excellent to find a hotel where the person at the front desk meet you with a smile. I felt welcome from the time I walked in the door. Karen Cash was the first person that I meet and my whole family talked about how perky she was about meeting her guest and giving us a room. I could tell that this was not a fake greeting this greeting was honest. No one could possible fake a welcome like this. I must say even the other employees went about there business with grateful hearts. If ever you are in the Alexandria Louisiana, I would most definite suggest that you spend your time at Super 8 Alexandria. When my family and I return from Texas, we are going to call ahead to reserve us a room. I want to thank Karen and her team for making our stay such a blessing.

Karen, thanks from Nancy and her family visiting our local families as we have traveled from the Middle East to stay at your hotel. It was GOD who placed us to stay with you. Again, thanks for a job well done from the beding to the breakfast. Super 8 has our vote.
