My wife and I had the honor of being hosted by Rudy and Patty from January 16 to January 21, 2012.

Patty is the best hostess and Rudy is the best tour guide that I have met and i have traveled to over 30 countries!

I could write forever about the fun that we had and the things that make Rudy and Patty special, but let me sum up the experience by saying "if you want to go to Panama" they will make your trip 10 times better . Use Rudy for all tours and be nice to Patty and you will get Panamanian breakfasts "to die for", including Rudy's secret jam to put on turkey and cheese sandwiches!

We stayed at Patty's condo located in Casco Viejo, which is very well appointed and beautifully maintained. Patty and her husband Rudy are very accomodating and run a professional operation. The Casco Viejo condo is in the old colonial section of PC. The only word for the wise I would offer is that the spiral staircase in the condo is a little challenging, as is the staircase up to the condo, so anyone with mobility issues should ask Patty to stay in one of their two other locations. Also, I believe those who have traveled a bit would be more comfortable in this location. The city is on a renovation frenzy, and the condo in Casco Viejo is just on the border of this expansion. But this condo, which itself is a redo and quiet, is in a beautiful section of the city, and is next to a charming old church and the mayor's office. We saw a beautiful wedding arrival at the church from our balcony. Either way anyway, Patty and Rudy can accomodate all types of travelers, as they have three offerings in PC. Just book it early, and be clear about any particular concerns.

Patty and Rudy do things right. The breakfasts were perfect, only made better by Patty's bright good humor. Watching the blue, yellow, and red birds in their front yard helped get our day started on the right foot.

We were able to walk to several good restaurants.

Rudy is a knowledgeable and insightful guide.

I can't say enough good things about Patty's Casitas - and about Patty and Rudy. As someone who has travelled the world for many years, and to over 43 countries, I found Patty and Rudy to be among the best hosts worldwide! The room (2 room suite) we had at the B&B was not only immaculate and spacious, but included a computer for us to use free of charge. Prices were very reasonable, and breakfast was superb. They also have a self-serve snack refrigerator and will purchase items at your request. Another positive is their ability to give the guest "One Stop Shopping". They not only run the B&B, but Rudy himself does private tours that are excellent. They are also what I call "Kid Friendly". We took a couple of tours with Rudy, and Rudy was great with our little boy (age 7). He quickly fell in love with both Patty and Rudy during our stay.
Patty and Rudy are quick to answer your emails, and they are very knowledgable and helpful. If you are like me and require things to go as perfect as possible on your trip, then Patty's Casitas and Rudy's Tours are for you.
