Coral Suites is a small hotel located one block off of Av Central Espana. It is modest by American standards but clean and staffed by the most helpful people I have encountered in my travels. It has a very nice pool (playpool depth) on the rooftop that I used every morning for six mornings and encountered only one other person, and he wasn't in the pool, he was just looking at the street below. The rooms are large and ours on the fifth floor even had a large (about 16' x 20') covered deck with a table and chairs. The rooms look just like the photographs on the hotel's web site and have a modest kitchen, a round dining table with two chairs, a desk and chair, a couch (loveseat size), a desk and chair, and a combination entertainment center chest of drawers. The bathroom is small and the hot water takes two minutes to arrive. We bought a shower nozzle at the large Rey Super Market (a block away on Av Espana) because the water only dribbled from the one supplied. Wifi is poor at best. Our first room was on the first floor and there was no Wifi. We were cheerfully moved to the fifth floor where Wifi is available but painfully slow and weak. The AC worked well, the maid service was very good, the in-room safe worked fine. The included breakfast is modest and some of the offerings seemed less than fresh. The fruit plates were good and the coffee was good. You can watch Central/South America CNN in Spanish while you eat. The desk and bell staff simply couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Their English is limited but their enthusiasm makes up for any communication problems. Overall, the shortcomings are outweighed by the location and friendliness.
