My recent visit to the Hotel Soloy was good, but with some reservations. Since the hotel is undergoing renovations, I recommend staying in one of the renovated rooms, which was very nice. The bed was one of the most comfortable of any I've ever slept in--and I've been to quite a few places around the world. This hotel tends to cater to Spanish-speaking guests, who are more forgiving than your average American traveler, but don't let that put you off. The wait staff was very nice and courteous, moreso than the desk staff, but that's a quibble. I like a hotel with a pool and their rooftop pool is okay, if not a bit "rustic." The breakfast is not that great, but the coffee and fruit was excellent. The major problem with this hotel is its location; the neighborhood is not conducive to walking around at night. But taxis were everywhere (due to the adjacent casino) so it is not a big problem. I would stay here again if the same room if available.

Old rooms. Staff badly trained. Not badly located but you have to be careful to leave at night. If you are looking for a place to sleep for a low price and you do not care about service , it may be a choice, but you'd better look for somewhere else.

Sure to have discovered this new value and great Hotel when traveliing to Panama.
Great price at all, very friendly staff, nice room and well decorated, Internet access free and a huge breakfast.
The location is also OK when travelling by business or even for pleasure as there are many pubs and restaurants nearby.

Going for work to Panama could be a surprise. If you had gone there already you can understand me. Hopefully located in Soloy Hotel I could mae my time there easier. I dont ask for unnecessary amenities while working, unless a great service and good and clean rooms must be always on mind.
