“Oh Panama!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Traveled to Panama City with the New Freedom Theater group from Philadelphia for a cultural exchange during the first week in February 2012. We had about 60 people in our group and this hotel was able to accommodate us rather easily.

The hotel is set up as a apartment like room with a kitchen (sink, range, microwave, and fridge) as well as a washer and dryer. All of which came in handy as the group performed three times while in Panama. It did get a bit challenging initially because the hotel has three (3) towers. You have to access the different towers via the parking lot area. The lobby is in Tower 3, so if your room is there you really don't have to go through the parking lot to get to your room, just take the elevator up

There was a complimentary full breakfast buffet in Tower 2, located at the Terrace Level where the swimming pool is on the other side. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, chicken (baked, fried tenders), can't remember if they served bacon because I don't eat it. Of course, there was toast, coffee, tea, orange juice, and water available. The location for breakfast overlooks the Fiesta and Salsa Bar, places to eat dinner; however, you must be at least 18 years old to enter. They will check ID.

All in all, not a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: Try to have a room in Tower 3 where the lobby is located if possible.

Booking online gets you a $99 rate per night in tower 1 which is the oldest but still more than acceptable. But, many times the website isn't working correctly, I found that using the Spanish version had less problems. Also, the numbering of the rooms is incredibly confusing and in typical Panamanian service the guy at the desk didn't tell us which way to go. Thankfully our kids were already staying here and we called them down from their rooms to show us the way. The first digit of your room number is actually the tower, there are three towers with three separate elevators so make sure you're on the right one. Just like everyone has said, the rooms are huge and basically a small apartment. The location is excellent with 4 casinos within walking distance and one of our favorite restaurants, the Wine Bar is across the street. I've stayed all over the City and I as far as I know this is the best deal at the moment.

“Great place, great location”

I came to Panama to have Stem Cell Treatment in February of 2011. Because I am in a wheelchair I needed an apartment that not only had wide doors to get my chair through I also needed to be able to use the commode and shower. The bathroom was extrememly nice with a shower large enough to wheel the chair in if necceary. The bedroom had two queen beds with plenty of storage to hang your clothes and drawers to put folded clothes in. Iron and board include plus washer and dryer in kitchen. Full set up in kitchen if you decide to cook but we chose to eat breakfast at the extensive buffet located by the pool. They cook eggs or omelets to order. Then they have toasts, cereals, fruits yogurts plus meats and patas and potatoes juice, tea and coffee. The staff is nice and rooms kept clean. Good location close to all your fast foods, Subway, McDonald's, Chinese etc. Grocery store close enough to walk to and there is a small store outside the hotel door. I was very happy staying there and will again. I stayed in tower 3 on the 22nd floor and the view was beautiful.

Room Tip: Tower 3 is the newest tower and handicap accessible. Blow dyer provided. Coffee maker, pot's pan...

“A great mid-range accomodation with good breakfast and dependable service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel twice at the start and at the end of a pre-booked 9-day adventure tour with Xplora. It is an aparthotel meaning that the rooms have kitchen and laundry facilities. The rooms in this place are split into 3 towers. There is a walkway between the towers which run across a car park, an odd feature of this place. Make sure that you understand the instructions to get to your tower as most likely you'll require 2 elevator rides. The shower in this place is excellent. Breakfast was very enjoyable. The quality of food was very good. However, I was most impressed with the service they provided to us on our last night when we missed our supposedly pre-booked taxi ride to the airport at 5 am. The hotel reception staff were alert and had the presence of mind to call a taxi for us (even though we did not request for it as we were still trying to figure out what happened to our pre-booked taxi ride) so we would not miss our flight. It turned out that we did need the taxi they called for us to use. WE made it to the airport in time to catch our flight. We thank the hotel reception staff that night (Jan 2, 2012) for the assistance they gave us even though we had difficulty communicating with each other.

Room Tip: Both rooms we had at the start and at the end of our tour were identical.

We stayed at the Torres de Alba twice during our recent visit to Panama and
were very impressed by the friendly helpful staff, and by the spacious and spotless
modern one bedroom apartments with large picture windows giving panoramic city
views. Enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast on the landscaped outdoor patio,
with good variety of hot and cold items.

Room Tip: Request a room in the newer Tower Three
