A nice Marriott with above average service but no view and not in best area for tourists. Despite being only two blocks from the Bristol, probably the best hotel in the city, I found little I liked about the area in which the Marriott is located. As others have noted cabs from the hotel are a good deal more expensive that if you get one on the street which I had a problem with. That said the rooms are larger than what I consider average for Marriott and were it not for the location I would rate this an above average Marriott. The staff was certainly helpful and they all seemed to speak good English, not the norm in PC. I would recommend this to a tourist speaking no Spanish and staying a single day before going off the the mountains or coast but I have stayed in better places for less in PC.
I should note that if I had paid the advance purchase weekend rate I would likely have rated the property higher but at $200 plus a day, and 35% more for every cab you take, it is not a bargain. If you like Marriott hotels you will probably like this one but there are other four star hotels in the city that have better locations and are a bit less expensive. Consider a luxury B&B if you don't need to be in the business center of town.
